00:00I think I got on a motorbike for the first time when I was two years old and it was with
00:21my grandfather, sitting on the back, but the first memory I have of riding a bike was with
00:26my brother.
00:27We did it eight times in the afternoons and we did it as a hobby.
00:32And it all started with motocross at an international level before the big move.
00:40When I turned 18, I got my driving license and I decided to try a rally raid.
00:45At the end of 2023, I spoke to my parents and told them that I wanted my sport career
00:50to go into rally raid.
00:54And one man has always been present in Edgar's career from a very young age.
00:58For me, Nanny Roma is the person that whenever I have to do something important, I always
01:04tell him or ask him.
01:05I think that since I was 11 years old, he is the person who has helped me the most on
01:10a sporting level, on a personal level, on an educational level too, in all aspects.
01:15And whenever I watched the Dakar, it was because of him.
01:19He is like the father I have on the Dakar.
01:22He is always helping me in every way possible.
01:25When I told him I wanted to do rally raid, he told me that I was crazy and it was a no.
01:30And so came the Dakar in a factory team at the age of only 19.
01:35I don't know if it's normal, I'm adapting.
01:39Sometimes I look at the bike and I say, oh, is this my bike?
01:43I knew it was going to be hard, but it's been a bit more than I thought.
01:48Morocco rally in the first two days was very hard, but this has been multiplied by three.
01:54I think you put pressure on yourself.
01:56There is no one around me who is putting pressure on me.
01:59They just tell me to learn.
02:00Every day when I arrive, they applaud me.
02:02They tell me that everything I'm doing is very good.
02:05So I don't feel pressure at any time and I'm very happy with the people I have because
02:10none of them is putting pressure.
02:19Learn.
02:20The objective is to learn.
02:22I have to push one day and see where I can get to.
02:25And if I made some mistakes, learn from it.
02:28That's what I'm doing here.
02:29But the first day I got lost and these two days I haven't.
02:33So maybe I have learned something.
02:39These are things you learn day by day and I think that's why I'm here, to learn from
02:42it, to know exactly what a Dakar is, to know how hard it is and how to prepare myself for
02:47the next year and later to be able to be fighting with the top riders.
02:55And the young Catalan is learning very, very quickly, leading the Rally 2 class.
03:06So when does he think he'll win the Dakar?
03:10I don't know.
03:11One day for sure, but I don't know when.
03:13Two thousand something.
