00:00What I have learned is that the imposter cannot have the power.
00:04Because here's the point.
00:05When that imposter is starting to come in,
00:08if you operate with imposter syndrome,
00:11the lesson went to the imposter.
00:14The accolade went to the imposter.
00:17And then as you move through life,
00:19and there's an opportunity for you to lead a company
00:21or your next promotion, and you're not prepared,
00:25even though your life experiences would say you should be,
00:29it's because you gave all benefit to the imposter.
00:31And so in the moment that you want to decide
00:34to show up as you, you can't,
00:36because you never benefited from those hard moments.
00:40You never benefited from when you did a great job.
00:43And so now when there's that moment
00:45where you wanna come in and just be the true you,
00:48you're the one with the empty suit.
00:49And so then you go back to being the imposter.
00:52So you never grow.
00:53And so what I have learned is that my best shot
00:57at being the best leader
00:59is being the best version of Tashonda Brown Duckett.
01:01The best shot I have to learn from all of the learnings
01:05was to make sure that me, Tashonda, could feel it,
01:08could feel the rejection, could feel the insecurity,
01:11could feel the miss, but also could feel the triumph,
01:14to feel the accolades, to feel the progress.
01:17And so when the imposter syndrome hits, because it will,
01:21just ask yourself the question,
01:23who do you want to benefit from it today?
01:26The imposter or me?
