00:00The National Commission on Senior Citizens, or NCSC, brought new hope to some former rebels now called
00:07Friends Rescued and Internally Displaced Persons in Zamboanga del Sur by providing livelihood assistance.

00:22The National Commission of Senior Citizens gifted new beginnings and hope to four former rebels now
00:27referred to as Friends Rescued and 13 Internally Displaced Persons in Zamboanga del Sur through
00:33the provision of livelihood assistance. This is a pioneering initiative of the NCSC in the region
00:38which aims to empower vulnerable sectors and support their journey toward economic stability
00:42and self-sufficiency. Beneficiaries are given livelihood kits which include sari-sari store
00:47packages, hog raising materials, food stalls, and rice detailing supplies depending on their
00:52proposal. Pacito de Lomos, an EFR beneficiary, shared his heartfelt gratitude to the program.
01:09The program also included enterprise development training which focuses on
01:13entrepreneurial mindset and business planning to ensure the sustainability of the beneficiary's
01:17ventures. This program aims to transform the circumstances of one of dependency and
01:23marginalization of self-sufficiency and active community participation. So we believe that
01:29every senior citizen because of your experience, because of your wisdom, skills acquired over the
01:36years that can contribute to the nation. NCSC reaffirms its commitment to inclusive development
01:42and the welfare of marginalized groups by empowering FRs and IDPs with sustainable
