The Smart Dragon-3 rocket launched on Monday at 11:00 AM Beijing Time from Shandong Province, China, sending the satellite group CentiSpace 01 into the planned orbit. The rocket is designed for commercial space missions and can be launched from both land and sea.

Gao Lijun from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation says the rocket will “undergo further improvements and upgrades to reduce the cost for the commercial launches and increase its carrying capacity”.

Future upgrades will aim to boost its economic efficiency and adaptability for various missions.
