00:05And the Comelec checkpoints are already located in different places in the country.

00:14More than 1,400 checkpoints were located by the Philippine National Police

00:18that will operate 24 hours for the start of the Comelec checkpoint and gun ban

00:23for the national and local elections and BARMMM parliamentary elections in May.

00:28These are the 38 red category areas,

00:30of which 32 are from the Moro Autonomous Region in Muslimnin Danau,

00:352 from the Cagayan and Bicol Region, and 1 from Eastern Visayas.

00:40The PNP will install body-worn cameras

00:42for the transparency and accountability of the checkpoints.

00:45Four were caught by gunmen in Region 3, 6, 12, and BARMMM

00:51that are fighting the Comelec gun ban based on the latest PNP report this morning.

00:56According to the Commission on Elections,

00:58even the government officials will not be allowed to cross the checkpoints.

01:02The Certificate of Exemption approved by the Comelec must be shown first.

01:06If you don't have an exemption from the Commission on Elections

01:11and you only have a license or a permit to carry firearms outside your residence,

01:17you can be charged by the Comelec with an election offense,

01:201 to 6 years imprisonment.

01:23We will remember that all licenses are suspended,

01:33Applications for the Certificate of Exemption

01:36from the Comelec to the gun ban can be submitted

01:41Checkpoints are only limited to visual inspections,

01:48except if the police saw something suspicious.

01:53the Comelec Checkpoint Ceremony was held

01:55in the Cartilian of Katipunan in Manila.

01:58The launching of the checkpoints was led by Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia

02:01and PNP Chief Police General Romel Francisco Maruil.
