00:00It's not that I've been in an ashram for three years, like as Krishna was saying, in an ashram we do celebrate.
00:07But I lost vague memories there from Andhra Pradesh.
00:10We do celebrate there, but I think here in Tamil it's much more vibrant compared to there.
00:16But it is also a very big festival in Andhra Pradesh as well.
00:18What all you witnessed here, in fact, all the celebrations that's happening, all this drum music.
00:23Yeah, it's like the whole atmosphere is so lively.
00:26I feel like everybody is up, very vibrant.
00:29I feel the whole space is very up.
00:31I feel everybody is in their best, is what I feel here.
00:35Thank you so much.
00:36Your name please?
00:37Sumanth.
00:39So, how does the fungal celebration here in Tamil Nadu today?
00:43A guest from Israel had also come here.
00:45Yeah, we are so happy that Christine is with us.
00:48She has joined us in the celebration.
00:50See, in city all of us are busy with our routine life.
00:54It is only during these kind of festivals that we remember from where we get our food and who should be honoured, who should be thanked for.
01:03So, as you said, this is an opportunity for us to give our thanks to the cow actually.
01:12Because now there are a lot of equipments for agriculture and all that.
01:18But everything started with that cow, right?
01:21Even now we know how important it is to have our daily good milk and even the cow dung.
01:28Everything is being used.
01:30So, this is one day that we respect and we honour the cow, we thank the cow and the farmers.
01:36What are the events that you have organised for the day?
01:39Well, there are a lot of sports like all what happens in the village.
01:43So, like Uri Adikaruthu and Tagaphor and all that.
01:47Cooking Pongal also.
01:48Yes, cooking Pongal.
01:49Yes, I am sure that you will enjoy the taste of Pongal.
01:52And we are so happy that, because see the organising of the whole function is actually handed over to the students.
01:59It is so nice to see these youngsters putting in so much of effort and organising the whole thing.
02:07Though the lecturers do help them out and guide them, it is fully done by the students.
02:13So, what kind of message you are trying to state to the students?
02:15Because there are people who have been divided in the name of caste, creed and religion.
02:20But here all people from different religions, different castes are also participating.
02:24Is it going to be a harmony Pongal?
02:26Exactly.
02:27See, they all know that the second they step into this institution, there is no politics, there is no caste or anything.
02:34So, it is all like one.
02:36So, this is like an opportunity to show the world that being a Christian or being a Muslim, nothing matters.
02:43See, Pongal is for everybody.
02:45So, let us celebrate it happily and as you said, use this opportunity to show the world that harmony is what matters.
02:52Thank you so much.
