00:00It's at the top of Great Western Beach, next to a police station, it's got a school on it, it's got the police station on it.
00:09It's a huge place where everybody wants to park, fair enough, but so do we.
00:13We live there, and we don't have a single legal parking space on our road.
00:18Our road's amazing, the houses are beautiful, and what used to be 26 houses is now more than 70 flats.
00:24Those flats used to be affordable for one person, some of them got two bedrooms, now four people live in them.
00:29And because of the cars for living crisis, we have to travel further, and we have to use our cars to do that.
00:34And when we come home, we have nowhere legal to park, literally nowhere legal to park, and that's not okay.
00:40Tollcom Road has a really small car park at the end, currently owned by Cornwall Council,
00:45which is one of these car parks that they want to sell off, sorry, hand over management team.
00:50And during the summer, for a few hours every evening, we would like to park there, we would like to leave our cars legally there.
00:57It's not great, but it is a sticking plaster, and it helps us cope in the summer.
01:01In the winter, we can park there for free. It's still rammed, you still end up driving round and round and round.
01:06Sometimes you can't park for half an hour, sometimes the only place you can leave your car is Double Yellows.
01:10But it's better than nothing. And now, they literally want to give us nothing.
01:14They already had very, we already had very little.
01:17And we just need help really, we need somebody to come and have a look at Tollcom Road and help us.
01:21It's just one example of the things that's happened in Newquay that have changed everything,
01:25and people living there are struggling. We just want some help, and this is not it.
