00:02:03but looking at the rat-like creature, Quinn had no idea what it could be used for.

00:02:46Unknown to the students at the school, there was currently chaos going on between the upper staff.

00:02:51Faye, one of the sergeants of the school, was walking down the hallway at incredible speed.

00:03:02A single wooden door in the first-year building had a sign out front saying the words,

00:03:07Faye barged the door open and quickly zoomed to Nathan's desk.

00:03:11The wind that came along with her caused papers to be flown and scattered all over the room.

00:03:16Hey, I was nearly done with that, Nathan shouted.

00:03:19The portals have been used, Faye shouted. Two students seem to have been registered to have gone through them.

00:03:24Nathan started to pick up the papers that were scattered around the room, one by one.

00:03:32I'm afraid it's because they have gone through a red portal, sir.

00:08:03Fine then, let me take control of the seat and I'll fight this damned rat.

00:08:08Vorden then left the seat in his mind and allowed Rayton to take his place.

00:08:12When Rayton sat down, he took control of the body.

00:08:16Meanwhile, Vorden walked off into the darkness and inside was another figure that looked just like Vorden,

00:08:21only they were sitting on the floor swaying backwards and forwards.

00:08:25Their fingers would constantly roll around each other and part of his shirt was in his mouth.

00:08:30How are you holding up? Are you feeling better? Vorden asked.

00:08:33Yeah, is Quinn going to be okay? He said as he continued to sway backwards and forwards.

00:08:38I'm sure he's fine. You know he's special. We all did from the moment we first met him.

00:08:42Special, just like Kaser was, and Marlin, and Fufu, but they all died as well.

00:09:32It was rare to even meet a Traveler in this type of place, and who knew what the man's true intentions were.

00:13:03As they walked up the first set, they could see more and more black blood splattered everywhere on the walls.

00:13:09Then, when they walked up even further, the two of them were stunned at the scene.

00:13:13Lying on the ground were ten rataclaws died, completely still, each one with their beast crystal carved out.

00:13:20Who did this? Are there more people here? Maybe another team on a mission? Ian said.

00:13:25I'm sorry, I thought perhaps the rataclaw outside was killed by your student friend, but it looks like I was wrong.

00:13:34The two of them then decided to climb to the roof.

00:13:37They stood on top of the roof and looked down.

00:13:43It was a beast that walked on six legs, three on each side.

00:13:48Its body stood upright like that of a human, while the bottom half was like that of a scorpion.

00:13:53It was a hideous beast that clearly wasn't from Earth.

00:13:56An intermediate beast, Ian said.

00:13:58Hey, what's that building, Vorden asked. Could the portal be inside there?

00:14:02That's the storage room, Ian answered.

00:14:04I doubt the portal would be inside there.

00:14:06Usually those places get targeted by thieves and such, and even if it wasn't there, it would be best if we let the beast leave first.

00:14:13Quinn had left the other building and slowly started to make his way to the storage room.

00:14:17He had no clue when the sun would rise and needed a place to stay for the night.

00:14:21Not only that, but he was hoping that he might come across some treasures at the storage room.

00:14:26On his way, he spotted a few rataclaws feasting on something in the middle of the street.

00:14:31Damn, they're everywhere, just like rats back on Earth, Quinn thought.

00:14:40At the front, there were two large steel doors which slid open.

00:14:43Afraid that they might make a lot of noise and attract unwanted attention,

00:14:47he decided to walk around the building to see if there were any other openings or entrances.

00:14:52With his back hugging the side of the wall, he peeked out to take a look.

00:14:56It seemed like there was another rataclaw, only this one was squealing and on its back in pain.

00:15:02Its cries were weak, and he wondered just how long had the beast been there for.

00:15:06He came out from the side of the wall and walked up to the injured rataclaw on its back.

00:15:11As he got closer to it, the rataclaw snarled at Quinn and tried to swipe its claws out.

00:15:16Still trying to kill me even in this state, Quinn thought, let me put you out of your pain.

00:15:21He walked up to the beast, and with a single blow to its head, it had died.

00:15:25As Quinn looked at the back of the building, he could see a small hole in one of the corners.

00:15:30Did the rataclaw come out from there?

00:15:32Before entering, he gulped at the thought that perhaps whatever injured the rat might be inside.

00:15:38Crawling on his front, he had reached the hole and tried to pop his head in.

00:15:42It was big enough for a human to fit through, but what he was afraid of was inside the building.

00:15:47He crawled through the hole and entered into the hangar.

00:15:50Nearly everything inside had been destroyed. There were no airships, mechs, and no beast weapons.

00:15:56He started to walk around the hangar for a while, until eventually, there was a room stationed in the corner.

00:16:02He walked up to the room, and there was a single steel door with a passcode device next to it.

00:16:07The door was military-grade, which meant even those with abilities would find it hard to break it down.

00:16:12But it was clear to him that whatever was in the container had yet to be destroyed,

00:16:16and most likely, whatever was inside was important stuff worth locking.

00:16:21Should I try hammer strike on it?

00:16:23He looked at the passcode on the side and pressed four random digits before pressing the enter button.

00:16:28Beep!

00:16:29Of course I'm not that lucky, he thought.

00:16:31Looking at the lock again, his gut was telling him to try it.

00:16:35Quinn then did as his inspect skill said and touched the lock.

00:16:39Nothing happened, but then he used the inspect skill one more time.

00:16:44Quinn immediately tested out the number the system had given him.

00:17:40and any of the small buildings or dangerous areas you can rule out as well.

00:17:49The two of them continued to look into building after building,

00:17:52but there was no luck or no sign of a secret room.

00:17:55Eventually, they entered what looked like a library.

00:17:58That's when a loud rumbling sound had come from Vorden's belly.

00:18:02I guess we have been traveling for a while now.

00:18:06Doesn't look like there are any beasts here, and we can build our own fortress, Ian said.

00:18:10There were large holes and broken down walls on the first floor,

00:18:13which made it easy for beasts to attack them.

00:18:48He then pulled out a little small stone from his pocket

00:18:51and placed it on the ground in the center of the room.

00:18:54He tapped the stone once, and a warm orange light started to shine from it.

00:18:58Here, take this, Ian said as he handed a small circle pill to Vorden.

00:19:03Is this a food supplement? Vorden asked.

00:19:06Yeah, I'm guessing if you came here by accident, you don't have any with you.

00:19:10Vorden looked at the pill before shoving it down his throat and into the stomach.

00:19:14A food supplement was a pill that contained all the things a human needed to live.

00:19:19As long as a person took one pill of these a day, they no longer needed to eat.

00:19:23You'll get some sleep and I'll keep watch.

00:19:25Then we'll do a little switch later on, Ian said.

00:19:31As he heard the sound of the door unlocking, a grin appeared on his face.

00:19:42But as he stepped in, his hopes of finding legendary beast equipment

00:19:46or stashes of beast crystals were soon lost.

00:19:54However, as soon as Quinn picked up one of the books closest to him,

00:19:57his mind had quickly changed.

00:19:59It was a container room filled with ability and skill books.

00:20:03Although Quinn was unable to learn the ability,

00:20:05he immediately converted the book into EXP points.

00:20:09As soon as Quinn decided to convert the book into EXP,

00:20:12it started to vanish in his very hands, as if it was disintegrating.

00:20:16After absorbing the first book, Quinn started to pick up book after book.

00:20:20After going through the books, Quinn found out that a level 1 skill book

00:20:24would give him 5 EXP points,

00:20:26while a level 1 ability book would give him 10 EXP points.

00:20:30Quinn got closer to the back of the container

00:20:33and found that the level of books would increase.

00:20:35After leveling up, Quinn immediately put his stat point into strength,

00:20:39and now without his gauntlets, his strength was at 15,

00:20:42meaning he would be able to perform the hammer strike skill

00:20:45with or without the gauntlets.

00:20:47As Quinn looked around the room,

00:20:49there were still several books he hadn't even touched yet.

00:20:51The place really was a gold mine for him.

00:20:54As he went on to the next set of shelves,

00:20:56with it came a new set of books.

00:20:58He placed his hand on the first one,

00:21:00and it was the first level 3 ability book he had come across.

00:21:03Quinn placed the book down and picked the book up,

00:21:06making sure he had heard the system right,

00:21:08but once again, the numbers he had received were correct.

00:21:11The level 3 ability book was offering him 1,000 EXP points.

00:21:15He once again went on rampage,

00:21:17grabbing every book he could on the shelf,

00:21:19absorbing those that he couldn't,

00:21:21and tossing the others on the ground.

00:21:23No new skills were unlocked,

00:21:25but Quinn still obtained the regular stat points for every level up.

00:21:28Now that his strength and agility were at level 15,

00:21:31he decided he should finally increase his stamina points.

00:21:34Quinn had now nearly touched every single book

00:21:37that was in the storage room.

00:21:39Unfortunately, the highest ability Quinn was able to find so far

00:21:42was a level 3 ability book.

00:21:44The further he went into the container,

00:21:46the higher the levels,

00:21:48but for the last few shelves, it didn't seem to be the case.

00:22:44because it looked empty from a distance.

00:22:46But as he got closer,

00:22:48he noticed there was a single book that had been placed there.

00:22:50As he touched the book on the shelf,

00:22:52a new message appeared.

00:22:54Out of shock, Quinn dropped the book

00:28:10he even had a chance to run away,

00:28:12rataclaw started squealing like mad.

00:28:18Then the sound of several steps was

00:28:58some type of shell, apart from the upper

00:29:00body. That was the beast's weak point,

00:29:02and that's where he needed to hit.

00:29:04Then as Quinn readied his hand

00:29:06to cast his blood swipe skill,

00:29:08he felt a sharp pain in his back.

00:29:10As he looked up, he could see something

00:29:12connected to his body, and when he followed

00:29:14it, it went behind the beast.

00:29:16The beast then lifted Quinn with the

00:29:18tail and chucked him hard up against

00:29:20the wall. As he fell to the ground,

00:29:22his HP had taken a huge hit.

00:29:24As Quinn looked into his stomach,

00:29:26he could see a large puncture had been

00:29:28created, and blood was quickly flowing

00:29:30out of his body. Critical

00:29:32hit, 10 of 45 HP,

00:29:34blood bank empty,

00:29:3635 of 45 HP.

00:29:38With his health nearly full,

00:29:40his wounds had healed up almost instantly,

00:29:42and Quinn was able to move once

00:29:44again. Looking at the scorpion,

00:29:46he noticed the tail truly wasn't there.

00:33:12completely ripped out. Mechs

00:33:14were a powerful device used in the

00:33:16war, but to power them, they required

00:33:18an incredibly powerful beast crystal

00:33:20of a high tier. As he reached the

00:33:22entrance of the training center, he could see

00:33:24that two rataclaws were standing out

00:33:26in front of the building. He decided to

00:33:28wait a little longer, hoping that the

00:43:36As the two of them turned on the light stone,

00:43:38the beast suddenly stopped.

00:43:40It covered its eyes and backed away from the two.

00:43:46out all the lights. It looks like it's super sensitive.

00:44:24Ian said. Vorden, get out of there!

00:44:26Raiton said. What do you mean?

00:44:28Vorden asked. Can't you see?

00:44:30The beast is only attacking Ian.

00:44:32Something is attracting it to Ian.

00:46:44How are we meant to see him now, said

00:46:46Vorden. It's too dark and the beast can attack

00:46:48from anywhere. He lifted his hands

00:46:50and started to crumble up each of the chairs

00:46:52into several metal spikes,

00:46:54all looming above his head. The other

00:46:56spears that were targeted had managed

00:46:58to penetrate him, going through his body

00:47:00and sticking him to the ceiling of the dome.

00:47:02However, the hole marks that could

00:47:04be seen in his body quickly healed up.

00:47:06This thing, why isn't it dead yet?

00:47:08Vorden said. Its eyes were

00:47:10slowly adjusting to the light that had

00:47:12surrounded Vorden, and now it could see

00:47:14the spikes as it left his side.

00:47:16The bloodsucker continued to move forward,

00:47:38Now that the beast was close enough,

00:47:40the light from the stone shone and reviled

00:47:42the face and clothes of the beast.

00:47:44The beast in front of him

00:47:46was wearing the same uniform,

00:47:48and although it didn't look exactly like Quinn,

00:47:50it had similar qualities in its face.

00:47:52He didn't know what happened to make

00:47:54Quinn turn into a creature like this,

00:47:56but he could feel that the beast and Quinn

00:47:58was the same person.

00:48:00What are you doing? Ian shouted. Kill it!

00:48:02Ian then pulled out his trusty dagger,

00:48:04ready to attack, but when he looked

00:48:06in front of him, the beast had vanished from his view.

00:48:08The next second, he was staring up

00:48:34on the situation, especially since he

00:48:36had been acting so strangely, but before

01:03:35less damaged than the others. He went

01:03:37inside, but the space was still too

01:03:39large. He then spotted a stairway

01:03:41to his right nearby.

01:03:43After quickly running up the stairway,

01:03:45and reaching the first platform, he

01:03:47stopped and turned. He knew he had

01:03:49no choice but to fight back. With his

01:03:51palm open facing downward, he was
