A 'programme of renewal' at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre got under way in September last year, seeing the closure of the swimming pool, health suite and changing village.

00:00I'm here at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre to announce the next scheduled investment works will be taking place here.
00:07From late September 2024, a programme of carbon neutral work will be carried out as part of the Council's commitment to reach net zero by 2030.
00:16Throughout these works, the fitness suite and the fitness class studio will remain open and additional daytime swim and pool-based fitness classes will be available at Open Gates Leisure Centre and Abraham Derby Sports and Leisure Centre.
00:30Swimming lesson pupils will be offered the option to continue their lessons at other sites.

00:44This work is part of Telford and Reikin Council's 20 pledges in 20 weeks campaign.
