00:00A common tech phrase in the 2010s was there's an app for that, referring of course to the
00:07myriad software solutions available on smartphones.
00:10Well now we've entered another era of tech, the era of robots.
00:14And automatons of every make and purpose were recently shown off at the Consumer Electronics
00:18Show in Las Vegas, including this one, a tiny little cat that sits on the edge of your mug
00:23and blows on hot drinks to cool them down.
00:25The blowing bot was developed by Japanese startup Yukai Engineering and they have named
00:30the little cat Nekojirafufu, meaning cat tongue in Japanese.
00:34It's a phrase often used to describe the 47% of Japanese people with sensitive tongues,
00:38and this bot hopes to prevent that cohort from burning theirs.
00:41The whole thing is powered by a rechargeable battery which operates a fan, though it's
00:45more than meets the eye.
00:46It's not just a fan, but a fan that mimics the way humans blow on hot beverages and foods.
00:51The settings include a knock and a spill mode, which blows more lightly, all the way to the
00:55most powerful, I've got this mode, with the device able to drop the temperature of a liquid
01:00from 190 degrees Fahrenheit down to 160 in just 5 minutes.
