00:00It's been a long and challenging journey and today we have seen traffic calming measures
00:07put in place here on Mayors Walk. This has been a request of local residents for a very
00:12long time. Many petitions were signed but ignored since my election. It's been our
00:18number one priority to deal with the speeding issue in my ward and this is a start.
00:23I've been campaigning for it before I became the MP. So it was the very start of 2019 that
00:30this campaign, I got involved in this campaign, it first got started. So that's five long
00:35years, six years in fact, this campaign's been running. And so to see this finally here
00:41is just wonderful. It's taken a lot of effort, it's taken a lot of focus from councillors
00:47and campaigners and myself but we finally did it.
00:50I've been campaigning for a very, very long time for the road to be safe. There's lots
00:57of speeding and it's about time that we keep everybody safe. We've got a lot of youngsters,
01:03people in wheelchairs trying to cross this busy Mayors Walk.
