00:00I just wanted to mention Poirot there, actually, because he was, for me, one of Spurs'
00:04standout performers in that game. Some of the crosses he put in, especially for the goal
00:08a couple of minutes into the game, were outstanding. And you just have to wonder,
00:12why does he not do that on a more regular basis?
00:16I think there's been a little bit of burnout, to be honest. I think it's like with a lot of Spurs
00:19players, you can sort of tell when the energy levels have been sapped. He's played a lot of
00:23football this season, not a lot of rest and rotation for him with all the injuries. And you
00:28could see he'd had six days rest, as had all the squad, and it really showed in the performance.
00:34He was such a threat down that right-hand side. The deliveries coming into the box were sort of
00:38Alexander-Arnoldesque at times. And his defending was much better as well. I think that's one
00:43criticism I've always had of Poirot. Going backwards, he is a little bit suspect, but
00:47actually, on Saturday, he was very, very solid defensively, really on his A-game and unlucky
00:54to be on the losing side, really.
00:56Indeed, yes. Now, of course, as well, Spurs had a new goalkeeper in between the sticks in
01:01Brandon Austin, and given the fact that Fraser Falls to himself was ill and unavailable. And
01:07to be fair to him, he did pretty well, claimed a lot of balls that came into the box,
01:13didn't look too flustered, which some keepers can do on their first start. You think, oh gosh,
01:17what's he going to be like with the pressure against a team who have got a really potent
01:22attack as well? But he seemed to cope with the pressure quite well, albeit this is a position
01:28where Spurs have already now strengthened in the transfer window, so his opportunities will
01:33probably still be quite limited despite that display. Yes, it was slightly ironic, wasn't it,
01:38that we end up playing the third-choice goalkeeper. He plays so well, and then literally at the
01:42background at the training ground, we're signing a new goalkeeper. But I think it needed to happen.
01:47Brandon Austin's been a real good servant to Spurs. He's never kicked a ball. Being out on
01:52loan a couple of times to the MLS once, but he's been at Spurs since a young boy in the academy.
01:57He was fantastic, and I think the one thing you would say is, why has he not been playing instead
02:00of Fraser Forster? He was very, very assured, commanded his box, made a couple of really,
02:06really strong saves, and he looked really, really assured with his feet. I think Ali
02:11McCoy gave him man of the match. That's the first time he's ever given man of the match to a player
02:15on the losing team, so it tells you everything, really. But yes, we've obviously brought in a
02:19goalkeeper. Don't know too much about Anton Inkinski from Slavia Prague. Allegedly very,
02:26very highly rated, extremely good with his feet, and commands his box.
