00:00The Philippine Coast Guard insisted on maintaining the monstership of the China Coast Guard in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines.

00:09This is what Patrick De Jesus reported.

00:13The Philippine Coast Guard has been monitoring the BRP Cabra ship for three days.

00:18The presence of the monstership of the China Coast Guard in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines

00:26The presence of the monstership was confirmed with the help of the Dark Vessel Detection System of Canada

00:31and the deployed PCG ship since last Saturday.

00:35The PCG also conducted aerial patrols of the caravan plane and the lander

00:40to monitor any possible movements of the Chinese ship,

00:44such as a boat, in order to respond immediately.

00:47The PCG said the last location of the monstership is 65 nautical miles from Los Friles Island in Zambales.

00:55And it is not doing any activities.

01:25So to make sure that it will not approach the coastline of Zambales.

01:29And secondly, to ensure that if there are any Filipinos who will pass through it,

01:36the Philippine Coast Guard will be there to ensure their safety and security.

01:40The BRP Cabra and the ship of the China Coast Guard changed their radio challenge several times.

01:47China firmly upholds its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea.

01:55China Coast Guard, 5901, under Republic Act 12064, Philippine Maritime Zones Act,

02:02the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the 2016 Arbitral Award,

02:07you do not possess any legal authority to patrol within the Philippines Exclusive Economic Zone.

02:13You are directed to depart immediately and to notify us of your intention.

02:17This is not the first time that China's monstership has crossed the border.

02:22Last July, it also arrived in Sabina or Escoda Shoal,

02:27where the ship of the PCG, BRP Teresa Magbanwa, was waiting.

02:32China is showing that they have control and jurisdiction in the whole area they claim,

02:38inside the 9 or 10 dash line.

02:41Of course, we should conduct our own patrols

02:44to show that it is not true that they are in control and administering that area.

02:52The government will not budge despite the deployment of the monstership in the West Philippine Sea

02:59and will ensure the protection of the Filipino fishermen.

03:03You are just fishermen and our government will not stop

03:08through the Coast Guard and the BIFAR to provide support to you.

03:13In other words, notwithstanding the presence of this CG-5901,

03:18it will have no effect on the operation of our government.
