De Zerbi hits back at Ronaldo's Ligue 1 criticism

Roberto De Zerbi believes the quality in Ligue 1 is high but the competition needs to be sold better

00:07It's probably sold badly by those who manage it,

00:13because Ligue 1 outside of France seems like a low-level league,

00:18but it's not like that at all.

00:21There are strong players, strong coaches,

00:24there are full stadiums, there are warm fans.

00:29Maybe it's sold and advertised less well than the Premier League,

00:37which is the best league in Europe,

00:39than Serie A, which is another important league,

00:44or La Liga in Spain, or the German league.

00:51I don't know if it's managed badly or sold badly abroad,

00:56but it's a shame, for example, that in Italy,

00:58no one sees the matches of the European Championship,

01:00no one sees the matches of the French league.

01:03It's a shame, because there are strong players

01:07who then go to the Premier League,

01:10who then go to Germany, who then go to other leagues
