00:00We have a question for you about the underwater drone that was recovered in Masbate.

00:08The question is from Chino Gaston of GMA News and Ryan Lacanlali of UNTV.

00:14What are the indications these are really Chinese underwater drones?

00:20Well partner, we don't have a definitive result of our investigation

00:26because this was retrieved by fishermen just a few days ago

00:31and was turned over to the Philippine National Police and is now in the care of the Philippine Navy.

00:37Now, you know where these drones are coming from.

00:42It could have come from anywhere.

00:44So what we are doing now is determining this drone, where it came from,

00:51what are its specifics, what vessels we monitored that passed through that area

00:58so that we can determine where it really came from.

01:03As of now, the investigation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is still ongoing

01:09and we cannot say if this drone came from a particular country.

01:16ADG John, a follow-up question from Chino Gaston.

01:21Will we return this underwater drone to China or, as you said earlier,

01:26to a country where we will know where it came from?

01:29Well, first of all, no one has said that it is theirs.

01:34Second, we are still examining the drone based on what is written there,

01:42the indications on that drone, and the specifics of its location, where it was found.

01:50So, as of now, we still don't know what will be our next step.

01:54Maybe we will just let our investigators to finally come to a definitive conclusion

02:01regarding the origin of this drone.

02:05But, of course, we are really investigating its origins

02:12because it has national security implications.

02:15Very obviously, this drone is used for reconnaissance and surveillance.

02:22So, it's imperative for the Philippines to determine where it came from

02:28and what it does inside our archipelagic waters.

04:17It's about the monster ship that was seen in Bajo de Masinloc on January 1

04:23that includes 3 Chinese Coast Guard vessels and 7 militia ships of China.

04:29What is the implication of this?

04:30And how are our fishermen there?

04:34Are the fishermen still able to get close to the place where China is guarding Bajo de Masinloc?

04:42Well, partner, we all know the situation there in Bajo de Masinloc.

04:46It has a lagoon and it is guarded by the Chinese Coast Guard.

04:51And our fishermen are not able to get inside because this has been going on for several years now.

04:57When we last talked to our fishermen, they were able to get close.

05:02It just depends on the situation because it's not always complete or that's the situation

05:10that there are so many Chinese ships.

05:12As mentioned, there's a monster ship.

05:14It's not always like that.

05:16So there are instances where they were able to get close to Bajo de Masinloc.

05:23What our government is doing to support our fishermen is sending vessels from the Philippine Coast Guard.

05:31And before, we have been doing rotational deployment of our ships to support our fishermen.

05:41Our fishermen in Zambales will be hopeful when they go to Bajo de Masinloc

05:48that our government will not stop giving them support in terms of presents.

05:53At the same time, the free diesel and other food supplies

06:00so that they can continue their fishing in the area of Bajo de Masinloc.
