00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the worst films that definitely
00:13weren't saved by their bad endings.
00:30This newer trilogy brought Laurie Strode back to confront her past traumas and possibly
00:34take down Michael Myers for good.
00:36The filmmakers then decided to spend a large portion of the third film on a new character
00:39named Corey.
00:45This undercuts the ending, which features the inexplicable capture and apparent death
00:49of Myers.
00:50He's put through a shredder, in what could have been a more interesting moment for the
00:54entire series.
01:03The conclusion also makes you wonder if it's even going to work, considering that the villain
01:07always finds a way to come back.
01:09With all this in mind, the horrible film fumbles to its finale instead of finishing on a high
01:13note.
01:29You don't need to remember much about E.T.
01:31The Extraterrestrial to recognise this film as a rip-off.
01:34An alien and a boy become unlikely friends before the world tries to tear them apart.
01:38The bizarre ending includes Eric Cruz being shot, killed and then revived thanks to Mac
01:43and his relatives.
01:50It's a shocking and inexplicable way to end, made only worse after the title character
01:54and his family are given citizenship.
01:56They all drive down the road as a chewing gum bubble inflates with a goodbye message.
02:07It is among the cheesier finales of its kind, sending off the extraterrestrial family after
02:12a lacklustre sci-fi adventure.
02:22In this thriller, Nicolas Cage's character tries to understand a prophecy about terrible
02:26events.
02:27His professor realises later that a solar flare might destroy the Earth.
02:30It's definitely a bummer, but the hero doesn't even get a chance to survive it.
02:39Instead of saving the lead, the movie chooses two children to escape the planet's destruction.
02:43You almost wonder why you watch the whole film only to see most of the characters incinerated.
02:48Not only that, young Abby and Caleb frolick in some far-off land like nothing happened.
02:56I mean, why save the kids and not some other worthy person?
03:03Knowing features many twists and turns that all lead to disaster before giving audiences
03:07this annoying send-off.
03:08Despite the wacky premise, this horror send-off
03:24of classic characters feels like a drag.
03:26Winnie the Pooh kills many people before being pinned by a car.
03:29It looks like Christopher Robin and Maria are safe until the bear gets up, forcing the
03:34villain's former friend to plead for mercy.
03:43The movie decides to punish the viewers with one final trick.
03:46Pooh reveals that he hasn't gotten over Robin's departure, choosing to channel his
03:49anger into stabbing Maria.
03:55It feels cruel to have an innocent person die without even giving the hero a chance
03:58to fight back.
03:59As the powerless survivor tries to escape, you might be wondering if there's a point
04:03to the mindless violence.
04:16This action series loves its big battles and chaos, but sometimes it also wants to
04:20be dramatic.
04:21This doesn't always work out, as the sequel, Revenge of the Fallen, tries too much all
04:24at once.
04:33The film tries to put Sam Witwicky in danger, but decides not to have the human hero die
04:37after all.
04:38If that isn't enough, Optimus Prime might not make it either.
04:42It's not hard to imagine they'll keep the Autobot leader around for another adventure,
04:45but rather than push the story to the limit, the writers decide to do the obvious and revive
04:49Prime with a little plot magic.
05:00This narrative trick doesn't help a movie that's already on thin ice for not focusing
05:04enough on the robot fights.
05:15Unless you're steeped in the lore of this Broadway musical, you might find this adaptation
05:27a little confusing.
05:28The bewildering musical numbers, visuals and casting choices lead to this strange ending.
05:39Grizabella is chosen to fly to the Heaviside Lair, with the evil Macavity failing to ride
05:44along.
05:45It's caught by the questionable CGI and ongoing terror of the motion capture technology.
05:50There's also the fact that the hero Victoria finally becomes part of the Jellicle Cats.
05:54It should be a celebration of great achievements and defeating the villain, but the whole thing
05:58falls flat.
06:10Tom Hooper's cinematic retelling of Cats comes off as more of a mismanaged nightmare
06:15than anything else.
06:21There didn't need to be one sequel to Jaws, let alone multiple ones that failed to live
06:37up to the original.
06:38The worst almost has to be the overblown Jaws The Revenge.
06:42It once again pits humans against a freaky shark, but this time the ending almost works
06:46like a parody of an action film.
06:54The heroes slam into the villain with the sailboat, causing an explosion.
06:58You'll likely be scratching your head as the slow motion effects make it all even more
07:01ridiculous.
07:02If that isn't enough, the character Jake miraculously survives his earlier encounter
07:13with the fearsome sea creature.
07:15The one good thing about this movie, and the insane conclusion, might be that it effectively
07:19ended the series.
07:23Statistically speaking, there must be some Morbius film fans somewhere.
07:39The final battle leaves something to be desired as the title hero and his nemesis battle it
07:43out.
07:44Jared Leto and Matt Smith's characters tussle in a fight that doesn't have much in the
07:47way of stakes.
07:55Even after that, the movie decides to give you an unnecessary post-credits scene that
07:58only raises more questions.
08:00Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes shows up in a desperate attempt to connect this universe
08:04to the larger MCU.
08:06If you even stick around for this moment, you'll likely be unfazed by an easter egg
08:16that goes, well, nowhere.
08:18It all feels like fan service for a project lacking in substance or the ability to answer
08:23plot questions.
08:35It might be one of the most misguided twists of the last several decades.
08:39Remember Me trudges forward as a mediocre drama, giving actors like Robert Pattinson
08:43and Pierce Brosnan a script full of cliches.
08:56The story then goes haywire as it is revealed that the ending takes place on September 11th,
09:012001.
09:02Pattinson's character, Tyler, ends up in the World Trade Centre, leaving the audience
09:06to expect the worst.
09:11It seems like a last-minute way to grip audiences, and feels too shocking to actually count.
09:16Viewers likely walk away with this surprise on their minds, having been blindsided by
09:20tragic events.
09:21The film isn't worthy of this fourth-quarter change, and fails to use it to enhance the
09:25plot.
09:53We can't think of a bigger slap in the face than this ending.
09:56The Devil Inside tries to give audiences one last set-piece in a car, but the action comes
10:00to a screeching halt.
10:07Several characters die, Isabella disappears, and the film tells the audience to visit a
10:11website for more information.
10:14The filmmakers don't even care enough to give the story a proper finale.
10:17It's even worse knowing that the film, up to that point, has only been a subpar take
10:22on exorcism movies.
10:23The last title card goes one step further, practically telling viewers that they've
10:27wasted their time.
