00:35Why are we conditioned to think weddings and babies are the only achievements we can celebrate
00:39or are worthy celebrating in our life? Because it's not.
00:42It's not what we are made for and what we are worthy of.
00:45We are made of many achievements in our life.
00:48Some more than that, bigger than them.
00:51Some of us may never achieve them and why is that the benchmark?
00:53Celebrate your achievements.
00:55If you've spent your whole life, your whole education working to get your dream job,
01:00that is a big celebration.
01:02Celebrate it. You deserve it.
01:04And there's so many other things that we do in our life that are worthy of celebration.
01:08Big celebration.
01:09Celebrate however big or small you want to do but just don't wait around for it.
01:13Celebrate yourself as well.
01:14Don't wait for someone to celebrate you.
01:17We need to make the most of it and experience the joy as we are living
01:20and not just in a eulogy when we're dead of all the things we've achieved.
01:24Celebrate with me now.
01:25So yeah, I threw myself a wedding scale party to finish my PhD.
01:28Because why not?
01:29One, who's going to stop me?
01:30Two, no one was going to throw it for me.
01:32And three, I deserved it.
01:34And everyone loved it.
01:36It's so nice to be at a crazy event that isn't a wedding.
01:39It was fun.
01:40Everyone loved it and now people want more.
01:43So just do it.
01:44It doesn't have to be that crazy.
01:46It can be bigger. It can be smaller.
01:47Just celebrate your achievements.
01:49Make it known.
01:50You don't have to wait around.
01:52Do it. You deserve it.
01:54Now this is what I'm talking about.
01:55We are all on the same page here.
01:57Last week I finished my PhD and I threw myself a wedding to celebrate.
02:01And now I need a honeymoon.
02:03A PhD moon.
02:04Yes.
02:05I've been stressed for my entire PhD and particularly the last year I have been non-stop.
02:11Working full time, writing my PhD in the evening.
02:14It's been stressful and I've just not had a break at all.
02:17So I am just in dire need of a break.
02:19My body is like, be horizontal.
02:21Just don't think about anything.
02:22So that's what I need.
02:24As much as I would love a really luxurious, lovely holiday.
02:27I just don't think I can afford it.
02:29So if anyone wants to give me a lovely holiday, that would be fantastic.
02:33However, I think I am going to just book a holiday maybe within the next month.
02:37A long weekend, four or five days where I can just be horizontal.
02:42Not talk to anyone.
02:44Sit with a drink in hand and a book.
02:46By a pool or on the beach.
02:48And just not move.
02:50That is exactly what I need.
02:52It'll probably be a solo holiday too.
02:54I'll go on my own, which I don't mind and I do actually love.
02:57And I'll show you how to have a fabulous solo holiday.
03:01Because I know people are a bit anxious.
03:02But my body is craving it now.
03:04I'm like, I've got a few days holiday to take at work.
03:06And I'm like, I have to.
03:08So I'm going to try and find a budget holiday.
03:11Somewhere close, sunny, basic and decent.
03:15Although there's a level of basic I go if I go solo travelling.
03:18I feel like I still need to be somewhere I feel quite safe.
03:21It's a key thing when you're a woman solo traveller.
03:24But generally it seems to be pretty fine.
03:27But I need a holiday so badly.
