00:00All right, you want to play? Yeah, I would love to. Okay, well then maybe you will need this.
00:10You know what this is? You're a super girl.
00:22Hi, how's it going? I'm Josh from Narcity. How are you? Hey Josh, how are you? Good. Andy, I want to
00:28start with you. I want to start with you and I want to start with Supergirl and Sasha Callie.
00:31Obviously, you posted that incredible video of the moment you gave her the role. You know, I'm
00:37curious, you get to put your stamp on this character whereas everyone else is inherited in a way.
00:41What was it about Sasha that made you say, this is my Supergirl and she's not going to be
00:46blonde, she's not going to be blue-eyed, she's going to be Latina? Yeah, well, I saw her audition
00:52and there was something about her that immediately spoke to me, mainly her strength but also her
00:59vulnerability. She's a phenomenal actor and there's something about her that I couldn't quite
01:04explain. That's part of the exploration in the film, you know, the film media, the excitement
01:11about working with an actor that you know or at least it's an intuition thing where you say
01:19something magical can happen here. So, I can tell you the rational things why I picked her but also
01:26there's something that is unexplainable and it has to do with that intuition.
01:31Very happy at the end, like she gave me that and more. You can see the magic on screen for sure.
01:37Barbara, I want to ask you, you know, DC fans love to hear about the things they missed and I heard
01:42there was a four-hour cut of this movie. Can you tell me the coolest thing that didn't make the
01:47cut but you really wanted to include? Oh man, that's an amazing question. I think there was a
01:53longer Barry's apartment, yeah, longer Barry's apartment scene that was just hilarious and
02:05hopefully it will see the light of day. I mean, it's still very funny but we had to condense it.
02:11Those guys are just hilarious.
02:20Well, Andy, I want to ask you, you know, you inherited two batmen here too. You've got Tim
02:24Burton's batman, you've got Zack Snyder's batman and I'm curious, you know, if you were to take
02:30your own batman in a brave and bold direction, what would you want to put on, what kind of spin
02:34would you want to put on that character? Oh, that's, I don't think I can talk to that.
02:39Okay, that's fair. Okay, Barbara, I want to ask you, you know, the movie is all about
02:47little moments, you know, misses, hits here where it can change the whole course of things.
02:52This movie took a long time to get to the finish line and you guys got it across. There were writers
02:56before, there were directors before. What was the moment for you that you think everything
03:01maybe turned on and we ended up with the best timeline right here?
03:07We got together with Christina Hodgson, a writer, and I think, you know, she nailed
03:16the script. That was a first step. And second, we are, you know, dogs with a bone. We don't let it
03:24go. We're stubborn as hell. And the pandemic started and we managed to keep our crew together.
03:32We kept on prepping through, you know, rain, shine, and, you know, and viruses. And
03:41we managed to get to the UK six months later, but we did.
03:45And here we are. So it's, you know, talent and stubbornness.
