00:04The new year is here and I wanted to share with you some key dates that parents of secondary school pupils might want to be aware of for 2025.
00:13For young people tackling their GCSEs this year, the summer exam series will run from early May through until about mid-June, as per usual,
00:22with the exact dates and even the contents of each exam differing depending on their school's exam board.
00:28But Results Day will be the same for everyone, and this year it will be on Thursday the 21st of August.
00:34For those with slightly older students in their household taking their A-levels, they'll be sitting their exams over a similar time frame,
00:41but for them Results Day will be a week earlier, on Thursday the 14th of August.
00:47Welsh and Northern Irish students also sit these same qualifications and get their results on the same day too,
00:53but for Scottish students who sit Nationals and Highers instead, they'll be able to find out how they did in either qualification a little earlier than their peers.
01:02In 2025, the SQA Results Day will be on Tuesday the 5th of August.
