00:00I just thought we'd finish by perhaps a couple of little awards for the calendar year of 2024.
00:06So, firstly, who would be of this calendar year?
00:09So obviously that's looking at the back end of last season to the start of this.
00:12Who's been your player of the year?
00:16Well, I think just because he's been that good this season, you'd have to give it to Dejan Kulcevski.
00:21I think he's been absolutely outstanding, Mr. Consistent.
00:26When he first came to Spurs, played on the wing, lots of assists, probably not enough goals.
00:31And now he's added that to his game.
00:33He is a really, really quality player.
00:35And when you see some Man City fans crying out for him to be signed and taking him down the road to the Etihad,
00:40I think that probably tells you everything you need to know.
00:42He's really kicked on.
00:44And what a snip.
00:45I think we got him in for £21 million from Juventus.
00:48So he'd definitely be my player of the year.
00:50He's kicked on another level under Posta Koglu.
00:52And he's keeping James Madison out of the team, isn't he, at the moment, playing in that central role.
00:57He really is our talisman.
00:58And actually, you could argue there's a shout for him to be made captain.
01:02But he is a really, really improved player.
01:05And he'll get my vote as the player of the year.
01:08Moving on from that, who's the unsung hero?
01:11Who's perhaps gone under the limelight but has been consistently putting in those solid performances?
01:16I think you'd have to go with Vicario in goal.
01:19He is a bit of an unsung hero.
01:21He's shot-stopping his second to none.
01:23He is extremely good with his feet, despite what some people say.
01:27A little bit of work to do with his crossing and perhaps his commanding of his box.
01:32But certainly, coming in to fill Hugo Lloris's shoes, who was at the club for over 10 years
01:37and was obviously the captain during that period as well.
01:40Terrific goalkeeper, albeit he slid away with his form towards the end of his career in the twilight there.
01:46But Vicario's come in and he's a real presence and he's now part of the leadership group.
01:50So, I think in terms of unsung hero, you only have to look at the void that's been left with him being injured.
01:56We've got Fraser Foster, who started well and let's say declined quite dramatically in the last few games.
02:03We're really missing Vicario. So, he's my unsung hero.
02:06Best goal? Any particular goals that you thought stood out?
02:10Or perhaps even, not necessarily the quality of said goal, but even just the moment for what it was in a match, for example.
02:17I think probably the couple of goals at the Etihad jump out straight away.
02:22We weathered that storm for the first 20 minutes and then it was a couple of sucker punches,
02:27two terrific flowing moves and a couple of great finishes.
02:31So, I think that game maybe raised a few expectations for a lot of Spurs fans.
02:37But the couple of goals that we scored that night were among the best I think that I've seen this season.
02:42And then just finally, what is the match of the year?
02:45I mean, you might have already mentioned it there, to be honest, James.
02:47What has been the best Spurs match of the year?
02:50Yeah, I think I'd have to go with both of the Man City games.
02:53I think there were two very, very different games.
02:55I mean, the Etihad, we went there, weathered the storm, got in front, perhaps slightly against the run of play and then absolutely blew them away.
03:04Man United, similarly, that was an absolutely breathtaking performance.
03:09That has to be up there as well.
03:11The second half against Villa this season, we were absolutely terrific as well.
03:15So, there's been three or four.
03:17And also the sort of Carabao Cup game against City as well.
03:20We played really well in that game for large parts and showed a sort of different side to us as well,
03:25where we really had to dig in because they came on very, very strong.
03:28So, they're my sort of standout matches so far this season.
03:31Very good. Well, that does wrap things up for Spurs in 2024.
03:36Of course, the first game of the new year is at home to Newcastle United on the 4th of January at 12.30 kick-off.
03:42That is to come.
03:43And over the course of the next year in 2025, we'll be keeping tabs on all what Spurs get up to.
03:48The ups, the downs, the ins, the outs, etc, etc.
03:51But until then, we will see you all next time.
