00:08This is followed by the release of them by the Bureau of Corrections.
00:11Now for the news, Ian Cruz.
00:16Just at the end of the year, the sentence of 157 persons deprived of liberty

00:31Eight were released from Davao Prison and Penal Farm,
00:34and two from the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong.
00:38The PDL of Sinena, her real name is not known,
00:41was only imprisoned once in a correctional prison.
00:45But in her release now, her family is still there.
00:49I would like to thank the Lord that He answered all of my prayers.
00:57I would also like to thank my family.
01:00We will be together in the new year.
01:02This PDL man has been waiting for more than two decades from New Bilibid Prison.
01:07Before he was released, he finished his qualification in the Good Conduct Time Allowance.
01:12I still have the strength, but I don't plan to go back to my old activities.
01:20Instead, I will change so that I will not go back here.
01:25His parents were the ones who wanted to be with the 41-year-old man who said that he was qualified for parole.
01:32I will go back to work. I will look for a job so that I can start again.
01:38According to the Bureau of Corrections, from November 26 until today,
01:41they have released more than 1,000 PDLs from different prisons in the country.
01:46This is the first time that we have released more than 1,000 PDLs every month.
01:56You are the first ones to be blessed in our GCTA.
02:01There are 7,707 PDLs since January this year.
02:06In total, 18,422 PDLs have been released under Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia.
02:15In the next year, many PDLs will be able to avail the benefits of the law,
02:20including those who have been convicted of heinous crimes.
02:23When we implement the release of the GCTA, we are screening it.
02:29All of these are heinous crimes. These are the ones who benefited from heinous criminals.
02:34We have an additional layer here that needs to go to the Secretary of Justice.
