00:00A heavy downpour hit many parts of the country in the last two days of 2024.

00:06This is because not just one, but three weather systems are affected.

00:12If this is a new year, will it rain?

00:15Let's find out from the weather specialist, Chanel Dominguez.

00:20Good afternoon, and good afternoon to all of our viewers.

00:25For now, we are not monitoring any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:33But we have weather systems that are currently affected in our country and are bringing rain.

00:39First here is the shear line, which we expect will bring heavy downpours that will bring heavy rains.

00:45Here in the south, we have Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental, Mindoro, Marinduque,

00:52Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.

00:55Intertropical Convergence Zone, or ITCC, will also bring heavy rains here in Visayas,

01:02in the Bonga Peninsula, rest of Mimaropa, rest of Bicol Region,

01:05Saragat, Davao Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur.

01:12We also expect heavy rains here in the Cordillera Administrative Region and in other parts of Cagayan Valley.

01:22For tomorrow, the day after the New Year,

01:26we expect heavy rains here in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region, along the shear line.

01:34We also expect heavy rains here in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and Central Resort.

01:43Meanwhile, Visayas, Caragany, Maropa, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms,

01:49they will experience this after the Intertropical Convergence Zone.

01:54For Metro Manila, which is part of our country,

01:57we expect that the weather will be clear,

02:01but we also expect isolated rain showers and localised thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

02:17For the day of our New Year, January 1,

02:20the weather will be the same.

02:23For Metro Manila, we expect clear weather.
