00:00Alawite communities have been protesting in several Syrian cities.
00:04What do we know about the reasons behind this recent unrest?
00:09So what we have seen so far is that we can basically divide the protest into two.
00:14One is the former regime supporters who have came out to protest and to signal that they
00:19are still there, that they have still political might in Syria and that they want to exercise
00:26some political power in the new Syria.
00:28And then we have the other ones who are people who gather in response to the manipulated
00:34news or fake news even in some cases that are being widely spread.
00:39So because we see that some elements within the former Assad regime, emperors especially
00:46close to Iran, are trying to incite hatred between the Sunnis and the Alawites in Syria
00:52still continuing after the ousting of the Bashar Assad regime.
