00:00In different parts of Australia there are different desert waves, you know those friendly
00:06exchanges between passing motorists.
00:09I recently caught up with Bruce White and he shared with me some of the desert waves
00:15used in his part of the country which is along Lake Road at Lake George in Bungendore in
00:21New South Wales.
00:22Do you recognise any of them?
00:25If it's someone you know and know quite well you may just raise a finger and sometimes
00:31you'll notice some of the older gentlemen when they raise a finger they'll raise this
00:37hooked finger possibly as they're crippled by arthritis, can't do any better.
00:42Someone you haven't seen for a while you might be a bit more acknowledging, two fingers.
00:48Someone you need to catch up with, you might raise a whole hand.
00:55Waving the whole hand, you're selling the world you're an idiot.
01:01All these signs are regional, may vary depending on where you are in Australia, what's going
01:08on, who's doing what, but quite simply the universal one is just one or two fingers and
01:17that should get a response.
