00:29that's suited for the job, and he's certainly had some pretty iconic moments every step
00:34of the way.
00:35Needless to say, there will be spoilers ahead for anyone who's yet to embark on this honorable
00:39journey.

00:59Introduction to Mongol War
01:07The beginning of this game will always be something truly special.
01:10From the start, we're thrown into a battle between Lord Shimura's small samurai army
01:14and the massive Mongol forces led by Khotun Khan.
01:17When one of Tsushima's general is struck down, the samurai charge knowing that it may
01:21be their end.
01:23As the battle rages, Jin and his uncle find themselves among the last standing, until
01:27Mongol artillery blasts them apart.
01:30Jin survives but wakes up separated from Lord Shimura, who's gone missing.
01:34Saved by Yuna, Jin sneaks through enemy ranks, recovers his armor and sword, and fights his
01:39way toward the Khan, only to lose their first encounter.
01:43This sets the stage for Jin's journey to rescue his uncle and save Tsushima.
01:47The weight of the situation hits hard, capped off by one of the most iconic title card reveals
01:52ever.
01:53Tsushima needs saving and we're right there with Jin every step of the way.
02:09Jin vs Ryuzo
02:19With friends like these, who needs enemies?
02:22Ryuzo is the leader of the Straw Hats.
02:24No, not those Straw Hats.
02:25They're a group of ronin warriors who aren't doing so great by the time our hero Jin Sakai
02:30meets up with them.
02:31Their numbers are wearing thin and they need food.
02:33And even though Jin goes out of his way to help in exchange for their assistance to rescue
02:37his uncle, Ryuzo in the end still chooses to take the side of the main antagonist Khotun
02:42Khan out of desperation.
02:44What follows after missions of reminiscing about the past between old friends and their
02:49friendly rivalry turns into a bitter clash of swords.
02:52You can really see how conflicted Jin is with this betrayal, practically begging his friend
02:57to do the right thing, but it did no good whatsoever.
03:00They eventually fight a second time where Jin decides to end the life of his friend
03:04with his own blade.
03:06Talk about tragic.
03:08Open the Gate
03:14This was definitely a tough one to watch.
03:17After his betrayal of the people of Tsushima, Ryuzo leads Khotun Khan and his men to Shimura
03:22Castle.
03:23The Khan demands the gates be opened, leveraging innocent prisoners in the process.
03:28Despite this, the people of Shimura Castle seem to be a bit reluctant to obey the commands.
03:32That's when the Khan passes his torch to Ryuzo, telling him to earn the food for his
03:37men.
03:38Not long after, one of the prisoners screams and begs for the gates to be opened as Ryuzo
03:43slowly makes his way over.
03:45With the people of Shimura Castle still not budging, Ryuzo regrettably sets the prisoner
03:49on fire, making his way over to burn the second prisoner before breaking entirely, letting
03:54out a bone-chilling scream to open the gates.
04:05It was truly a disturbing scene to watch, even with our knowledge of Ryuzo betraying
04:09Jin and all of Tsushima.
04:11It just goes to show the lengths the Khan will go through to get what he wants and the
04:15lengths someone else might go through when they truly have no choice left for survival.
04:21Saving Lord Shimura
04:27This was undoubtedly one of the moments where we felt the tide turn in the Mongol War.
04:31By this time in the game, Jin has received the help of many with the likes of Yuna and
04:35her blacksmith brother Taka, Lady Masako, and Master Archer Sensei Ishikawa ready to
04:41join his side to help free his uncle.
04:43What follows is a mission to take back the castle that Jin's uncle is currently being
04:47held in.
04:48With the help of Taka's newly made hook, the support of Yuna, the expert skills of
04:52Lady Masako and Sensei Ishikawa, and right after a battle with a former friend, Jin makes
04:57his way over to where his uncle is being held and is finally able to free him.
05:01It's an epic moment as you finally use the skills you've learned up until then to reunite
05:05with Jin's uncle.
05:07Little do we know, this is where the drama starts getting a bit spicy.
05:15Poisoning the Mongols
05:23Along his journey, Jin reunites with his old caretaker, Yuriko, who teaches him how to
05:27make poison darts to use against the Mongols.
05:30Later, when they reach Castle Shimura, Jin's uncle plans a direct assault, risking heavy
05:35losses for Tsushima.
05:36But Jin and Yuna have a different idea, using poison to catch the Mongols off guard.
05:41In a tense, stealthy mission, Jin sneaks through Mongol guards and poisons their fermented
05:45milk supply with Yuriko's methods.
05:48It's a risky move that puts him at odds with his uncle, marking this to be one of his most
05:52dishonorable choices by samurai standards.
05:55But while unconventional, we can't deny that his methods definitely put the Mongols on
06:00notice.
06:01Taka's Death
06:10When Jin arrives to confront the traitor Ryuzo in a duel, he's ambushed by the straw hat
06:14Ronin and taken captive.
06:16When he doesn't return, Taka goes searching and ends up captured as well.
06:20With both men imprisoned, Koten-Kan appears, offering them milk and pressuring Jin to surrender
06:25his people.
06:26Jin refuses and the Kan releases Taka, giving him a blade with the twisted option to take
06:31Jin's life.
06:32Instead, Taka bravely tries to strike the Kan and is beheaded for his courage.
06:37It's a heartbreaking scene, as Taka had just begun to find his own bravery.
06:41His last words to Jin and Jin's devastated reaction make this one of the most emotional
06:46moments in the game.
06:49Ghost Dance
06:53In the mission Ghost of Yarikawa, Jin, Yuna, and Taka fight to protect Yarikawa's stronghold
06:59from waves of Mongol attackers.
07:01Jin has to cut down enemies and take out Mongol artillery to help turn the tide.
07:06Afterwards, he faces a tough boss fight against General Temuge.
07:09When Jin wins, he's given the choice to slaughter the general, a move that terrifies the nearby
07:14enemies and unlocks the powerful Ghost Dance.
07:18Entering this stance lets Jin perform instant kills on frightened enemies, making it a defining
07:23intense moment that cements him as a force to be feared and brings him closer to embracing
07:28his role as the Ghost of Tsushima.
07:37Final Fight Against Khotun Khan
07:50This is the showdown everyone was waiting for.
07:53After Jin's falling out with his uncle, he faces judgment for dishonoring the samurai
07:57name.
07:58Luckily, with Yuna and Kenji's help, he manages to escape.
08:01The journey back is brutal, costing him his horse, but Jin presses on.
08:06With grit and careful planning, he finally tracks down Khotun Khan just as he's about
08:10to set sail.
08:12Despite all the Khan's dirty tricks and assistance from his men, Jin is finally able to take
08:16him down, putting an end to his ruthless reign.
08:19It's a huge victory that's been a long time coming, achieved through Jin's willpower and
08:24the support of Tsushima's warriors.
08:26This however, is far from the biggest challenge that Jin will have to face.
08:38Becoming the Ghost
08:45This was really the moment that Jin embraced the title that was bestowed upon him.
08:50Remember the mission where Jin poisons the Mongols' fermented milk?
08:53Well, his uncle wasn't thrilled.
08:55Lord Shimura wanted to stick to the samurai code, fighting honorably even though it would
08:59mean heavy losses for Tsushima.
09:01Jin tries to convince him that to defeat the Mongols, they need to fight just as ruthlessly.
09:06But his uncle refuses to see it that way.
09:09This is when Jin realizes the samurai way won't save his people.
09:13The way of the Ghost will.
09:14Finally embracing this path, he defies his uncle's ideals and commits to doing whatever
09:19it takes.
09:20It was really a conflicting moment, especially after all the effort put into saving his uncle.
09:24But sometimes, you have to do what's necessary when your home is at stake.
09:34Fighting Lord Shimura
09:44After Jin finally takes down the Khan and the Mongols, his uncle Lord Shimura makes
09:48one last attempt to bring Jin back to the samurai way.
09:51By the Shogun's order, Jin's uncle is forced to carry out Jin's execution.
09:56What follows is an emotional last exchange between them, including a haiku in the very
10:01spot where Lord Shimura once trained Jin.
10:04The two clash in a heart-wrenching duel, with Jin emerging as the victor.
10:08In the end, you can choose to give his uncle an honorable death or fully embrace the path
10:13of the Ghost by sparing him, at the cost of being hunted forever.
10:17Sucker Punch never misses when it comes to tugging at our heartstrings, and this moment
10:21is no exception.
