00:00The DILG will distribute 78,000 police and firefighters

00:05to ensure the safe welcoming of the new year.

00:19because the fire is lower this December 2024

00:24compared to December 2023.

00:28According to the Bureau of Fire Protection,

00:31there were 724 fire incidents since December 1

00:36until December 24 of this year.

00:40This is lower compared to 1,112

00:43that were reported at the same time last year.

00:47But 15 fire incidents were reported this year

00:50because of the explosion.

00:51Aside from the fire,

00:52the government is also ensuring the safety of our countrymen

00:56in the welcoming of the new year.

00:58Because of this,

00:59the Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG

01:04will distribute 78,000 police and firefighters

01:06throughout the country.

01:08They are the personnel that will ensure the safety

01:10of our countrymen

01:12and the safety in the welcoming of the new year.

01:1540,000 are expected to come from the police

01:18and 38,000 from the firefighters.

01:22The BJMP also issued an alert

01:24to watch out for persons deprived of liberty or PDLs.

01:27The DILG promised that the country will continue

01:30to distribute our money for the safety of our countrymen.

01:34Meanwhile, according to the PNP Spokesperson

01:37and Information Chief Brigadier General,

01:43and on Christmas Day,

01:46the Bureau of Fire Protection

01:48issued a red alert status until January 2.

01:52This means that all BFP personnel are on call

01:54to respond if necessary.

01:57The BFP is also urging the local government

02:00to implement a total ban on explosions

02:03in their provinces.
