Both in his caricatures and in his hagiographies, Che was the main architect of his own legend. Cinephile, writer, photographer, Che Guevara never ceased to build the myth that would survive him. He staged himself in family, in power or in combat and became internationally one of the great figures of the Revolution. And even his dark side, it is he who has been in the media. With his battle dress, shaggy beard and cigar in his mouth, he has turned the guerrilla's filth into a virtue and with authority has donned the costume of the "war lightning bolt" ready to plunge the world into the abyss. Fifty years after his death, this film, which combines first-hand accounts, unpublished documents and little-known archives, begins the work of reconstructing the image of the heroic guerrilla.
