Thousands of Europeans welcomed Christmas with great enthusiasm. Masses were organised all over the continent with thousands of worshippers attending the events to mark the festive occasion.

00:38The cathedral went up in flames in 2019 and was closed to visitors and worshippers for five years.

00:53And over in Greece, Athenians marked the occasion in their own unique way.
00:58Thousands of residents and tourists released their Christmas wishes on paper lanterns.
