00:00It's the first time that I've been invited to do a reading and I think that you know I'm a Christmas
00:06aholic so anything that promotes you know goodwill towards other people and kindness
00:13it seems in such relative short supply at the moment that anything that promotes that I am
00:19at the forefront to support and I think because of what the Princess of Wales has
00:26gone through with the health issues in the last year
00:33because so many people's lives are affected by cancer. I lost my wife of 38 years three years
00:40ago to the same disease and statistically they say that one in two people are going to get it
00:50so it doesn't matter what level of society or wealth or fame or destitution you live in it's
00:59going to hit everybody. Well it's obviously astounding as soon as you step into the place
01:04it's actually awe-inspiring like obviously I've only ever seen it on TV but it's something else
01:12in terms of scale and beauty at this point. Westminster Abbey has a heft and a history to it
01:20and the geniuses of the architects of that day they knew what they were doing to inspire all
01:26when you walk into a building as well as singing in a place like that it elevates your performance
01:32so it's amazing. I think it's wonderful to bring people together quite frankly the people in the
01:38audience today are the people who work in charities or people who have done something
01:44gracious for somebody in need or maybe somebody's suffering and so
01:50yeah I mean that's just and this is that time of year spread love spread love.
