00:00A two-day police blitz across New South Wales has led to the seizure of 62 weapons,
00:06including 49 knives and the arrest of 70 people. Operations FOIL and ARIES targeted violent
00:14offending, knife crime and anti-social behaviour as over 900 people were searched, 350 charges were
00:22laid and 160 drug detections were made. In designated areas like Parramatta and Wollongong,
00:30metal detecting scanners were used, leading to 24 weapons seized and 55 arrests. A 16-year-old
00:37in Parramatta was found with a folding knife and hatchet and a Penrith man was caught with
00:43$20,000 cash, MDMA worth $39,000 and knives in his car.
