00:00You conceded the first goal from a set-piece to him?
00:04Yeah, without conceding nothing to the opponent and then one set-piece makes us more nervous,
00:13all the stadium. I felt it since the first minute. There's a lot of anxiety. That's normal
00:22because of the context and he's really disappointed and then created a lot of chances to score.
00:29And then, again, against Tottenham, they scored two goals and it's really hard. After that third
00:36goal it's like everybody's suffering in the stadium. The fans, the players, everybody.
00:42So it's a tough moment but we have to face it and then prepare for the next game.
00:49You said the other week that Carlos and Charles were set-pieces now. Would you consider
00:54changing that because Andres Jorginho has walked to the club in the summer to
00:59take charge of set-pieces?
01:00No, the responsibility of everything is me, not Carlos. So it's on me. And we are a team.
01:08We are a team in the good moments and the bad moments. We have a way of doing things.
01:12We are working on that. We are going to improve on that also but we didn't lose because of set-pieces.
01:20We lose because we create more chances. We didn't score and then in this moment everything
01:27against us, they can score like against Tottenham. We create a lot of chances also.
01:35It's a difficult moment but the responsibility is me, not Carlos.
01:39A couple of weeks ago you said your team was giving the ball away too much.
01:46It happened again today. You couldn't defend. You mentioned you couldn't finish.
01:52Until you get the offensives right, how are you going to get anywhere?
01:56Yes, that is clear. You have more possession, you create more chances. We concede less
02:04chances so you are defending. Of course the result says a different thing but you are
02:09defending better than the opponent because you concede less great opportunities. You are creating
02:15more so you are attacking a little bit more but then in the last moment we don't score and then
02:20the result says different things. Like I said, it's really hard and we have to address that.
02:27We are suffering a lot of goals, that is clear. We create chances but not scoring.
02:33Yes, we have to address that.
02:34Shouldn't the top professionals be able to do the basics of keeping the ball and
02:39defending set-pieces? Surely you don't need to coach them.
02:43No, it's my responsibility to coach them. Of course we want to improve and in this moment
02:49everything is so harder. I don't want a club like Manchester United to lose 3-0 at home.
02:58It's really tough for everybody and of course the fans are really disappointed and tired of
03:05this moment. You can feel it in the stadium even in the first play and I understand that but we
03:09have to face it and we know what to do so we have to improve set-pieces. I think we are not giving
03:16the ball away as much as we do. We control the game better. We don't concede a lot of spaces.
03:23Transitions we control very well against one team that 60% of the goals they score is when they
03:30steal the ball in the half. We manage to do that but then in the set-pieces, one penalty and then
03:38that moment when we have to forget the context, everything and keep the ball for a moment and not
03:44try to score two goals right away. It's a really tough moment and we have to understand
03:53what the players are thinking in that moment when you suffer a 2-0, when you make a penalty,
03:58when the box is controlled. We will address that and you have to address that because
04:04it's really tough for everybody to lose these kind of games.
04:09On Thursday you spoke about a disconnect that went from 1-0 to 3-0 very quickly and the same
04:14kind of thing has happened today. I know you're talking about coaching and tying the training
04:18pitch but that suggests it's a mental thing in the players' minds. Is that harder to solve?
04:24I think that moment, that understanding of the game, it's a lot of mental. But you can feel,
04:33not just the players, also the fans. You can feel it in the first goal kick with Andre Onana,
04:39he's thinking what to do, trying to push the other guys and everybody's so anxious. So I think
04:45in this moment, our club, everybody's tired of this moment and we know it. So we have to face it
04:50and focus on the next game. We know, like I said in the previous question, we know what to do.
04:59We have to address a lot of things but we are ready to do it and we already know that the
05:04challenge is big. But like I said, it's really tough on the fans. It's really tough on the
05:11players that are losing 2-0 at home. So they want to score two goals instead of the first one.
