Malaysia agrees to resume search for missing MH370 plane
Malaysia announces it has agreed to launch a new search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared 10 years ago in one of aviation's greatest enduring mysteries.
The Boeing 777 carrying 239 people disappeared from radar screens on March 8, 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

00:00On 13 December 2024, the Cabinet has agreed in principle to accept the proposal from Ocean
00:10Infinity United Kingdom to proceed with seabed search operations to locate the wreckage of
00:18Flight MH370 in a new area estimated at 15,000 square kilometres in the southern Indian Ocean.
00:27This endeavour will be based on the no fine, no fee principle.
00:32Under this principle, the Malaysian Government will not be required to pay Ocean Infinity
00:38any fees unless the wreckage of the aircraft is discovered.
00:43The proposed new search area identified by Ocean Infinity is based on the latest information
00:49and data analysis conducted by experts and researchers.
00:54The Ministry of Transport is currently negotiating the terms and conditions of the agreement
00:59with Ocean Infinity, which is expected to be finalised in early 2025.
01:06These decisions reflect the Malaysian Government's commitment to continuing the search operation
01:11and providing closure for the families of MH370 passengers.
