00:00On a slightly lighter note, you've spoken before about how Dutch football used to influence you as a kid,
00:06but also how you were a fan, in inverted commas, of Liverpool.
00:10Just talk to us about your recollections of watching, I guess, the early 80s?
00:15Yeah, late 70s, early 80s. Actually, my first was probably around, I think it was the 74 FA Cup, it might have been, Liverpool.
00:25Yeah, I loved the whole, I think back then it was kind of pass and move, Liverpool style.
00:32They used to play a lot of five-a-sides, the trainees used to read about it, like Digested, and really what five-a-sides were,
00:38was a modern sort of rondo, so ahead of their time, kept the ball on the deck, all the stuff I loved,
00:45mainly because my dad sort of loved the way they played.
00:48So, yeah, I was born a bit from that, and fair to say that went away from that after a while.
00:57But yeah, no, a lot of my sort of early recollections and enjoyment of football came from that style of game.
