00:14Hello, good afternoon, ma'am. Good afternoon to all of us.

00:19Sir, what are the details of the approved implementation of the

00:23Ilocos Norte-Ilocos Sur-Abra Irrigation Project?

00:29Well, this project is a multi-purpose dam.

00:33It means that we can irrigate it and it has a power component of 20 megawatts.

00:44The dam will be built in Abra and there will be a trans-basin tunnel

00:50to the Nueva Era Ilocos Norte.

00:54And then, it will irrigate close to 15,000 hectares

01:00of newly irrigated rice fields.

01:04How important is this project and what is its new design?

01:09Well, it's important.

01:11As you know, it was conceptualized during the time of our President's father,

01:17President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

01:20But there were problems and it was not implemented.

01:27It's good that the provincial government of Ilocos Norte and Abra

01:37gave endorsement to RDC, the two provincial governments.

01:44So this project became possible.

01:47I was supported by our President in the funding.

01:51Actually, it was locally funded.

01:53That's why it's so good.

01:54It will have two power components.

01:58One in Abra and one in Nueva Era Ilocos Norte.

02:03So all will benefit from this project.

02:06How much funding was allocated and what is included in the project?

02:11When will this project be implemented, sir?

02:16It will be implemented immediately.

02:18Actually, this is a design and build.

02:20By January, we will finish this building.

02:23It was approved by the Negaboard under the leadership of our President.

02:29This has high dam in Abra and afterbay dam in Nueva Era.

02:38It has a trans-basin tunnel and irrigation facility.

02:42Usually, this construction should last for five years.

02:47But it can last for three to four years only if the construction is simultaneous.

02:54It means there is construction in the high dam, afterbay dam, irrigation facility, and trans-basin tunnel.

03:01Okay.

03:02When the project is finished, how much land is expected to be the source of irrigation?

03:12Ma'am, this will irrigate around 15,000 hectares.

03:16If we implement what we call Alternate Wetting and Drying Technology, it will be 20% more.

03:24The total farmer beneficiaries will benefit from this project is 32,600 families.

03:33The funding is 37.5 billion pesos for this project.

03:39Again, how many families or citizens are expected to benefit if this project is implemented?

03:46Around 32,600 families, ma'am.

03:49Okay.
