00:06paid a high price for their visit to the Guadalupe Public Market.

00:19Actually, Connie, in the joint inspection of the DPI and DA of the Guadalupe Family,

00:24the Department of Agriculture noticed the high price for the sale of rice.

00:29According to Agriculture Secretary Chew Laurel, the rice sold for P62 per kilo should be P49 only.

00:36The landed price of imported rice is P40. There is an additional P5 to P7 until it reaches the families.

00:44That's why she said it looks like there is a profit-eating. They already know who the importers are.

00:48But rice is not the only thing that is expensive. Actually, the question now is what else is cheap.

00:53In the family in the Guadalupe Market, some of the fish caught in the sea cost P50 per kilo when it entered December.

01:00The price of pork increased by P10 per kilo. The price of chicken increased by P20 per kilo.

01:06There are some vegetables that increased, like tomatoes, which are now P200 per kilo. Before, it was P140.

01:13According to the DA, the increase in price of pork is because of the ASF, while the price of chicken is increasing because of Christmas.

01:21The same is true for vegetables, while for fish, it is because of the closed fishing season.

01:25The Noche Buena items in groceries, according to the DTI, less than 50 percent of the products increased their prices,

01:32but those that increased, the increase was only less than 5 percent.

01:36According to the DTI, there is no sudden increase in prices while Noche Buena is getting closer.
