Twelve students from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) have been remanded for four days to assist in the investigation of a case involving the assault of a male student at the university's residential college, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

00:08for four days over an alleged assault on a 20-year-old male student at the university's
00:14residential college, Sinar Harian reports.
00:18Acting Kuala Terengganu OCPD Superintendent Wan Muhammad Zaki, Wan Ismail said the arrests
00:24followed a police report filed by the victim's father, who claimed his son was attacked by
00:29several students between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on December 15.
00:34The father, who resides in Melaka, brought his son to Sultana Nur Zahira Hospital for
00:39treatment on Monday.
00:42Investigations revealed the victim sustained bruises and internal injuries caused by blunt
00:46objects, affecting his arms, waist, chest, abdomen and leg.
00:52Police have confiscated weapons believed to be linked to the assault, and the case is
00:56being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code.
