00:00In other news, PhilHealth approved their future funds for next year amid the withdrawal of their funds from the 2025 National Budget.

00:10Congressmen also discussed how the agency spent their funds.

00:15Jonathan Andar has a report.

00:19In the proposed 2025 National Budget, the PhilHealth funds were not withdrawn.

00:23President Marcos himself is in favor of this.

00:26He said that their reserve funds were just left in the bank, which is more than half a billion pesos.

00:32Even the health department said that PhilHealth has a lot of money.

00:35But where does PhilHealth bring the subsidy to them?

00:39We include two things.

00:43Benefit payment, our payment to the beneficiaries.

00:46If we cannot use, Mr. Chair, of course we have also a collection from the direct contributors.

01:41But again, I am humbly asking this honorable committee to give us just a little more patience.

01:48PhilHealth said that they do not have the power to decrease the contribution of their members.

01:53But they promised that they will recommend this to the Congress.

01:57They are also aggressive in expanding the benefits, like 30% increase of some benefits packages.

02:04Next year, it will be 50%.

02:08Now, they have a fund of 150 billion pesos surplus or extra,

02:13281 billion pesos reserve,

02:16and 489 billion pesos investment fund.

02:20For the next year, PhilHealth Board approved their 2025 corporate operating budget,

02:25which is 284 billion pesos.

02:28271 billion pesos is for the beneficiaries.

02:31The budget is the fifth in the zero subsidy in the 2025 national budget.
