00:00It's no secret — the Trumps like attention.
00:03And while that tendency certainly played a role in getting Donald Trump back into the
00:07White House, it's also shined a spotlight on many of their fashion failures.
00:12While winning the presidency diminished his chances of ever wearing an orange prison jumpsuit,
00:17Donald Trump can't quit his favorite blend of Ronald McDonald red and yellow.
00:21Trump, a fan of gold sneakers and the Golden Arches, added an extra dash of orange to his
00:27look for a campaign stunt in Wisconsin.
00:29He swapped part of his signature business suit for a garment he has no business wearing
00:34— a safety vest in that vibrant neon hue meant to serve as a warning to avoid something.
00:40Trump was cosplaying as a garbage man in response to a gaffe made by Joe Biden.
00:44Biden seemed to refer to Trump supporters as garbage in response to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's
00:49comment about Puerto Rico being a, quote, floating island of garbage during Trump's
00:54Madison Square Garden rally.
00:56The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters."
01:00According to USA Today, the White House insisted that Biden had only called Hinchcliffe's comments
01:05garbage.
01:06However, Trump wasn't about to accept that clarification and forgo the chance to live
01:10out every 5-year-old boy's fantasy.
01:12So he struck back by wearing an orange vest and riding in a custom garbage truck with
01:17his Make America Great Again slogan plastered on it.
01:20The terracotta tones of Trump's orange skin also clashed with his far brighter vest, which
01:25in turn clashed with the red and white striped tie tucked underneath it.
01:29However, he wore the vest on stage later during a rally, where he revealed what his aides
01:33said to convince him to keep it on.
01:35It actually makes you look thinner."
01:38After Election Day ended and Americans learned that Donald Trump would be making a triumphant
01:42return to the Oval Office, many fans wondered what message Ivanka Trump was trying to convey
01:48with her outfit.
01:49In particular, for being the daughter of the conservative victor, she wore a liberal amount
01:53of blue.
01:55It's more common for the women of the MAGA tribe to wear Republican red to major political
01:59events in a demonstration of their party loyalty.
02:02However, after working closely alongside her dad during his first administration, Ivanka
02:07announced that she was ditching politics amid Donald's third campaign.
02:11So was her choice of Democrat blue a sign of her displeasure with her father's future
02:15political plans?
02:17Well, she stood on stage with him during his victory rally, so she couldn't be that opposed
02:22to them.
02:23Another possibility is that she was trying to assure Democrats that there's someone in
02:26Donald's orbit who doesn't consider them demonic, which is what he called them during one of
02:31his final rallies of 2024.
02:33Or, perhaps Ivanka was trying to look shagadelic?
02:37After all, you could add a lace jabot to her blue velvet pantsuit, and it would make a
02:41great Austin Powers costume.
02:44Whatever her reasons, she really should have just worn a different color.
02:47After a long, exhausting night, the last thing most Americans wanted to be worrying about
02:52was what was going on with a nepo-baby's wardrobe.
02:55In response to Biden's inadvertent trashing of Trump supporters, Donald Trump Jr. set
03:00out to prove that it's wrong to write his political brethren off as garbage by dressing
03:04as trash for Halloween.
03:06However, he didn't think his costume through.
03:09The message he seemed to be sending was that being trash is something to be embraced.
03:13As he proudly proclaimed on Instagram,
03:15"'I'm garbage like the rest of you deplorable and irredeemables.'
03:19For repurposing waste like wads of packing paper and plastic bottles, at least he made
03:24his outfit environmentally friendly.
03:26But if it wasn't clear whose side he was on, he also donned a Make America Great Again
03:30hat and a matching flag around his neck.
03:33He likely did not intend for these pieces to be considered garbage, but opinions may
03:38vary.
03:39With his MAGA cape, Donald Jr. looked like a new nemesis for Captain Planet.
03:43Such a character would be right at home in his dad's administration, as Donald Trump
03:47considers the Environmental Protection Agency a sworn enemy.
03:51But the worst part of Donald Jr.'s costume was his footwear.
03:55Those suede-clog monstrosities belong in the wastebasket."
03:58Finally, what might have been most shocking of all is that his kids weren't too embarrassed
04:02to take a photo with him in such a corny costume.
04:06If we had a nickel for every time one of Donald Trump's sons dressed up as garbage in 2024?
04:10"'I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?'
04:15That's right, Eric Trump also jumped on the trash trend for Halloween, but his costumes
04:19lacked his brother's originality.
04:22The black garbage bag he wore featured no embellishments or trim from the garbage bin.
04:26At least Eric added a MAGA hat to his ensemble to let fans know that he was supposed to be
04:31garbage.
04:32Without it, he could have been mistaken for a giant raisin or Kesha at the 2010 MTV VMAs,
04:38or one of the nurses who had to wear trash bags to work when his dad failed to ensure
04:42they were provided enough protective equipment during the pandemic.
04:45Meanwhile, Eric's wife, Laura Trump, dressed up like that shining beacon of hope and freedom,
04:50the Statue of Liberty.
04:52As you can see in the photo, even one of Eric and Laura's dogs, which appears to be clad
04:56in a taco costume, is hanging its head in shame.
05:00The stealth wealth trend clearly isn't something Laura Trump is on board with.
05:04She wants everyone to know that she can afford to pluck a peacock's entire tail to make her
05:08dress.
05:09On her visit to Mar-a-Lago, she laid an egg with her ostentatious feathered outfit, which
05:14seemed to be an attempt to out-tacky the garishly gilt interior of her father-in-law's Florida
05:19nest.
05:20In contrast, her nude heels were a snooze and an attempt to lengthen her muscular legs.
05:25While Cruella De Vil loves a dress decorated with bits and pieces of beautiful beasties,
05:29It's magnificent.
05:31Hello, my beauty.
05:34even that villain would have rolled her eyes at the unimaginative construction of Laura's
05:38mini dress.
05:39It had an arts and crafts quality, and a six-year-old armed with a glue stick and a handful of peacock
05:44feathers probably would have come up with a more creative design.
05:47Notably, Laura's look sent mixed messages.
05:50Yes, peacock feathers can symbolize everything from royalty to good luck to some superstitious
05:55types.
05:56However, they are also emblematic of devilry because the eye spots on the plumage represents
06:00the evil eye, and if you look at Trump's dress for too long, it just might give you the eerie
06:05sensation that it's staring at you.
06:09Speaking of Cruella De Vil, Melania did a slightly better job channeling the Disney
06:12villain at her husband's Madison Square Garden rally.
06:16But while her zebra-striped Michael Kors coat brought to mind one of the costumes Glenn
06:20Close wears in 101 Dalmatians, it lacked the extravagant flourishes like faux mink sleeves
06:25and red PVC boots that make the outfit look expensive.
06:28Apologies to Kors, but Melania's coat also bore a striking resemblance to the garments
06:33included with some pimp Halloween costumes.
06:36It also lacked the sumptuousness and evident artistry seen in many of the fancy outfits
06:41Melania has worn in the past.
06:43Another issue with Melania's jacket was that the stripes were on the thin side, so they
06:47looked muddled from a distance.
06:49But perhaps the piece was just the best option for sending the message that a zebra doesn't
06:53change its stripes amid rumors that Melania's been unhappy in her marriage in recent months.
06:58Notably, Kors was also an eyebrow-raising designer choice, as he is a Joe Biden donor
07:04who participated in an event with Jill Biden not long before the MSG rally.
07:09Ivanka and Melania Trump seem locked in a battle for the ultimate fashionista in the
07:14family.
07:15Unfortunately for Ivanka, the Roberto Cavalli dress she pulled from the archives to attend
07:20a bat mitzvah with Jared Kushner didn't add any points to her ongoing tally.
07:25The gown looked a little too vintage.
07:27The jewels adorning it had lost some of their shine, and the overall design was a throwback
07:31to the 80s.
07:32However, while it's easy to imagine Ivanka's late mother, Ivana Trump, walking the red
07:37carpet in it during that decade, the heavy-looking halter-neck dress was actually from Cavalli's
07:432006 fall-winter collection.
07:45The cutout on the bust exposed some cleavage, making the look a slightly risque one for
07:50a tweens' coming-of-age party.
07:52The silver piece wrapped around the sides was also a bizarre addition, resembling a
07:56carapace or wings covered with dull jewels.
08:00And while the jewels themselves may not shine how they should, those points on the bust
08:03appeared sharp enough to be almost dangerous.
08:07It seems that this piece appeals to the Trumps at large.
08:09As Laura commented on a video of her sister-in-law modeling the dress,
08:13"'Don't let me near all these hot dresses.'"
08:17Coco Chanel famously said,
08:18"'Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.'"
08:22Well, Laura took that advice, flipped it, and reversed it when she met up with one of
08:26the entertainers on the lower rung of Donald's list of celebrity supporters.
08:31By the time Donald began trying to expand his voter base by recruiting rappers to the
08:35MAGA calls in 2024, Forgiato Blow had already been recording Trump-themed hip-hop songs
08:40for years.
08:41In 2020, he released the track, "'All Eyes on MAGA,' which was followed by "'Let's Go
08:46Brandon' in 2021 and Trump's Nephew' in 2022.
08:51The artistic efforts of the rapper, who calls himself the mayor of MAGA-ville, were rewarded
08:56with a photo-op with Laura in October 2024.
08:58However, it seems she had her musical eras a bit mixed up.
09:03For the shoot, she dressed like a pink lady from the 1978 movie Musical Grease.
09:08That particular Broadway classic is set in the 50s, long before hip-hop, let alone right-wing
09:13rap, was a thing.
09:15In addition to a pink Women for Trump jacket, her outfit included black leggings and a matching
09:19T-shirt.
09:20Her top evidently wasn't tight enough for her liking, as she had also knotted it in
09:25the front.
09:26During her meeting with Blow, the rapper placed a thick gold chain around Laura's neck.
09:30Dangling from it was a medallion designed to look like Donald wearing a MAGA hat.
09:34Laura was absolutely delighted to have the mini-bust of her father-in-law hanging from
09:38her neck.
09:39On Instagram, she praised Blow's accessory, writing,
09:42"'This is what a fun campaign looks like.'"
09:45Before heading out to the Admirals Cove Street Fair with Donald Jr., we can only assume Kimberly
09:50Guilfoyle may have misheard where they were going.
09:53"'Carnival'… what?"
09:55She was dressed like she was ready to attend a party at a nightclub, not a carnival with
09:59funnel cakes, games of chance, thrilling rides, and a carousel.
10:03At least Guilfoyle certainly didn't look like she was going to risk enjoying any of that
10:06in her Balmain mini-dress.
10:08Admittedly, this particular event occurred in late December 2023, but Guilfoyle's ensemble
10:14was so garish, we thought it earned an honorary place on this list anyway.
10:18The outfit featured multicolored glittering fabric, long sleeves, and a turtleneck.
10:23Her footwear choice was also all wrong, as her pair of Louis Vuittons with sky-high platform
10:28heels were definitely not designed for strolling around on the uneven pavement of a street
10:32carnival.
10:34When she shared photos of her look on Instagram, she promoted the Trump brand by noting that
10:38her blinged-out clutch, which resembled a cheap carnival prize itself, could be purchased
10:43at the Trump store.
10:45Guilfoyle's garb gaff was made even more glaring when she posed with Donald Jr.
10:49Her longtime partner had chosen a casual outfit that was more appropriate for their outing,
10:54although his long-sleeved, pale-teal polo looked like it had seen better days.
10:58The bottom hem was uneven, making it appear as though it had been stretched out.
11:03The cut of his dad jeans also didn't work with his gray sneakers, as the legs were bunched
11:07up around the tongues of his shoes.
11:09But as sloppy as his outfit was, by the end of the night, Guilfoyle was surely wishing
11:13that she could swap clothing and shoes with her boo.
