Santa's got a bump on the head and thinks he's a superhero in this superhero film that's definitely only for the very youngest of viewers, at best.

00:00Santa Claus has a head injury in the Spanish-Canadian animated film Superclaus.
00:05Harland Williams' Santa gets a boo-boo on the noggin just four days before Christmas
00:10and thinks he's a superhero from a film within the film,
00:13and it's up to a young kid named Billy and an elf named Leo to save the holidays.
00:19For me, the film peaks to its opening minutes where it makes jokes about superhero movies,
00:23cinematic universes and fans being obsessed with searching for Easter eggs.
00:27I'm more wide to watch the Superclaus 3 in this film's universe than the actual Superclaus I was watching.
00:34Unfortunately, after that it's a lot of charmless slapstick and robot fights aimed at very undemanding young viewers,
00:39and the animation is unspectacular and plasticky.
00:42Carl Fjord voices the villain, an evil capitalistic toymaker that wants to take over Christmas
00:48that definitely reminded me a lot of John Lithgow in Santa Claus the Movie,
00:52but unfortunately Fjord isn't nearly as hammy.
00:55It should have a reverse age restriction. If you're in double digits, you're too old to be watching it.
