00:00Thousands of prisoners held by the Bureau of Corrections and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology

00:05will be released under the amended law of the Good Conduct in Time Allowance or GCTA.

00:16A gift for the new year was given by the government for the thousands of persons deprived of liberty.

00:22This is because DOJ, DILG, Bucor, and BJMP signed the new implementing rules and regulations

00:30for the law of the Good Conduct in Time Allowance

00:33where even the prisoners of heinous crimes can be released because of the GCTA.

00:39This is a very good development.

00:41This is a very good gift for the persons deprived of liberty and their families.

00:50According to Bucor, they will release 5,000 to 10,000 prisoners of heinous crimes under the amended law.

00:57According to BJMP, they will release 600,000 to 1,000 prisoners of heinous crimes.

01:01According to Bucor, they will release the elderly and those with serious illnesses first.

01:06They will also ensure that no high-profile inmates will be deprived of their rights.

01:13They will be the first.

01:17Elderly and sickly, terminally ill, and then the elderly.
