00:00In Milan, the S3 Convention on Health and Sexual Affairs, which celebrates the almost 50 years of activity of the SIA, the Italian Society of Andrology, was held.
00:14It was also an opportunity to talk about the importance of prevention.
00:17Today we are talking about this prevention campaign that has been carried out throughout 2023 until the beginning of 2024.
00:25And above all, it is very important for the younger generations, the 14-year-olds, the 15-year-olds, the 16-year-olds, up to 18 years old,
00:34that we must check and tell what are the appropriate lifestyles that these young people must follow in order to avoid problems and diseases from the elderly.
00:47The main national experts have made a balance on the successes of the previous prevention campaigns and the point on the challenges of andrological prevention at 360 degrees, which embraces all ages.
01:00Preventing something today means not being in front of so-called pathological conditions tomorrow, that is, something that does not work, on which we will have to deal with expenses and also with problems for the individual and especially for society.
01:16Technology then pushes a reflection on what will be the role of the andrologist in the future.
01:21We will take into account what has been done and what needs to be done, also in light of how the relationship is changing, both medical-patient and in light of new technologies.
01:34I am referring to Dr. Google, Professor GPT, as it is now called, to new technologies based on artificial intelligence.
01:43It is therefore a reflection on what the andrologist of the third millennium will have to be, how he will have to relate to the new patient.
01:54It is a bit of a cyber-chondria with this new pathology that is spreading and in which experts are trying to clarify.
02:08During the conference, the investigation carried out in collaboration with the University of Ulm in Milan was also presented and directed to young Italians.
02:16The University of Ulm, in charge of the IAEA, of the Italian Society of Andrology, did this research precisely to understand what are the cultural blocks that young Italian males have with respect to andrological prevention and andrological cures.
02:32There are cultural blocks, this is what our research has shown, there are various causes that have to do with, I would say, the male culture of a nation.
02:43However, doing research also means clarifying these causes and therefore finding possible solutions to solve these blocks.
