00:00The Welsh football set-up at the moment is quite an interesting one, because of course
00:08we're coming through the era now, or we've gone past the era now, the likes of the Gareth
00:11Bales, the Aaron Ramses for example, all these players who delivered so much success and
00:15great memories for Wales. Their time is coming to an end, of course Gareth Bales has retired
00:20from international football, football in general. Aaron Ramses is at Cardiff but isn't really
00:26going to be the player he once was, so it is time for a new era at Wales, I think that's
00:32the most important thing to say, under Craig Bellamy, and so there's lots of new players
00:36who are starting to burst through, and so the time is now to start looking at who are
00:40the future stars of this Welsh team, without the big names that I've just mentioned before.
00:45I think you'll get into it in further depth, but you've got the likes of Brendan Johnson
00:48at Tottenham for example, Nico Williams, Reuben Cowell, Charlie Crewe at Leeds United as well,
00:54these are all some good young talent that Wales do possess.
00:57Yeah, obviously, as you say, it's a massive transition period, you see the likes of Bale,
01:03Ramsey, Wayne Hennessy even as well, one of the top appearance makers, coming in and out
01:09the side, and I think Bellamy is working towards a new transition, a new look for Welsh football
01:16and to give these young players a chance. Starting at the very, very top, we do have
01:22obviously, some great representatives for Wales in the Premier League, Brendan Johnson
01:26is, when he's fit, he's quite remarkable really, coming to his own was fantastic at
01:32Nottingham Forest in the Championship, then came up, was brilliant for them in the Premier
01:36League, but then Tottenham Hotspur snatched them, and in years to come, I'm certain that
01:41so many of these young Welsh players will be playing at the very, very top. Brendan
01:46Johnson, he's got all the scope to be the next standout figure, you have Harry Wilson
01:51obviously there, but he's 27, so a bit older, a bit more in his prime, he's been fantastic
01:55in terms of trying to replace Gareth Bale, which is obviously a bit of a monster task.
02:00But yeah, you named a few there, Nico Williams has been fantastic, only 23, plenty more to
02:07come from him, been brilliant under Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest this season so
02:11far. Reuben Colwell in the Championship, there's still a number of top talents in the Championship,
02:17only 22 years of age, at Cardiff as well, so you struggle to think how he wouldn't have
02:23the sort of understanding of how important Welsh football is, Cardiff City obviously
02:28being their home ground as well. Jordan James, you look at him from Birmingham City, playing
02:35in the French League now, he's only 20. Louis Koumas of Stoke City, only 19, and Charlie
02:40Crewe as you mentioned for Leeds United, a fantastic young talent, and yeah, the future's
02:46bright and Ben Amey's set up a plan where these players will be integrated into the
02:51national side, so it will be an interesting next couple of years maybe to see these players
02:56really progress.
