00:00What a game it was last night.
00:04Good game on Monday Night Football.
00:05Dallas and Cincinnati living up to the billing.
00:0847 points scored between the two teams
00:10and give credit to the Cincinnati Bengals
00:12playing for probably nothing at this point.
00:14Go on the road to win 27 to 20.
00:17Very big game yesterday for both Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase.
00:22Chase with over 170 receiving yards
00:26and a couple of touchdowns as well.
00:28Burrow has had an MVP type season,
00:30unfortunately playing for a team
00:32that looks like they'll finish under 500
00:34at the end of the year.
00:36But needless to say,
00:37Burrow feels good about the performance.
00:39He told reporters post game,
00:41they're still alive in this thing
00:42until they tell them they're not.
00:44Yeah, yeah.
00:46I mean, it's nice to win.
00:48No, obviously we're still not where we want to be.
00:51It's a nice win, but potentially meaningless.
00:56We're going to talk a little bit about how in prime time
00:59that's where the perception of this team
01:01is built from other teams around the league.
01:03What do you think you showed the rest of the league tonight?
01:10We're going to be explosive on offense.
01:11That's a defense that's been banged up all year,
01:17and they got all their guys back now.
01:19They got Micah. They got Diggs.
01:22They got Bland.
01:24They got all their guys, and you could feel it tonight.
01:27You know, that's a good explosive front
01:29that makes it tough.
01:32I like how we played.
01:34We got to finish a couple of those drives in the end zone
01:37where we kicked a couple field goals.
01:39That was disappointing.
01:42So we left some out there, but nice to get a win.
01:44How good does it feel, Joe, to get a break
01:47and be able to go out on the field and finish?
01:50Yeah. I couldn't believe we got a break.
01:53That was crazy the way that happened.
01:56It's nice to get one.
01:58We haven't gotten any over the last couple of years,
02:00so nice to get one.
02:03And meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys
02:05continue to invent new ways to lose.
02:07Last night, it looked like they had the game in hand early on.
02:10Late in the game, not so much.
02:11A blunt block putt.
02:14Yeah, it was blunt, I guess you could say.
02:15A block putt turned out to be the reason
02:17why they end up losing the game 27-20.
02:19It was addressed by the head coach, Mike McCarthy, afterward.
02:22Yeah, definitely. I mean, we actually had a return called.
02:26You know, the tackle released.
02:27The guard went down. Big gap was exposed.
02:29Nick took it.
02:31And then we were able to get the block.
02:33You know, A.O. was in a vice situation.
02:37And then, you know, he heard the roar of the crowd.
02:39And when he turned, I mean, he understands the role,
02:42you know, of crossing once the ball crosses the line.
02:47His response was when he turned,
02:51you know, when he heard the crowd,
02:53the ball was there, and he reacted to it.
02:54So, obviously, a big play in the game.
02:59Oh. Oh, I'm hurt.
03:07Mm. Mm-mm.
03:09Nah.
03:11Nah, I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
03:15That.
03:18Nah.
03:19You can't even put that into words, bro, to be honest.
03:23I mean, I wasn't even really grasping what was going on.
03:26Nick made a great play, and then, you know,
03:30I asked the ref, you know,
03:31explained what happened, and he told me
03:33that we touched the ball.
03:35It was definitely a huge momentum shift.
03:36I mean, we just caught a huge stop.
03:39We're going to a two-minute drill.
03:41It's just real hard to use.
03:45It's real hard to...
03:47You think to believe you can pull that game out
03:49from that situation.
03:51Um...
03:55That hurts.
03:57Cowboys' season probably ended at home last night.
04:00They have had a really tough time
04:02playing at AT&T Stadium this season.
04:04Meanwhile, South Carolina's Gamecocks get good news.
04:07Outside of the bad news that they got,
04:08they didn't qualify for the college football playoff.
04:10They're getting their edge rusher back, Dylan Stewart.
04:13He is a freshman, folks,
04:14and this is what it sounds like
04:15in the new world of the NIL deals.
04:18He's agreed to stay with the Gamecocks
04:21for the 2025 season.
04:22What that sounds like is maybe he had an offer
04:25to leave and get more money.
04:26I don't know how this works these days.
04:28He's supposed to receive between a million
04:30and a million and a half dollars to stay.
04:32Again, college football contracts.
04:35This is the new world that we are living in.
04:37Also, the Heisman Trophy Award is upon us here.
04:39It looks like Travis Hunter is going to win.
04:41He's the overwhelming favorite.
04:42He's minus 400.
04:43They announced the finalists yesterday.
04:44It's going to be Hunter, Dylan Gabriel,
04:46Ashton Gente running back on Boise State,
04:48and Miami's Cam Ward, those are the finalists.
04:50Meanwhile, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham
04:53has entered the NFL draft.
04:55He's supposed to be a first round pick,
04:56maybe all the way at the top in the 2025 NFL draft.
05:00Bill Belichick, meanwhile, doing more than flirting
05:02with the University of North Carolina,
05:04was asked on the Pat McAfee show yesterday
05:06if he's going to take the job.
05:07He said he's had some good conversations
05:09and kept saying, we'll see.
05:10So we will all see along with him.
05:12And Tyler Van Dyke is transferring again
05:14from Miami to Wisconsin,
05:16and now somewhere else he's entering the transfer portal.
05:18He has another year of eligibility remaining.
05:21Meanwhile, Duke quarterback Malik Murphy
05:23is entering the transfer portal as well.
05:26He had a school record 26 touchdown passes.
05:28Duke was nine and three.
05:29He's probably going to be one of the most polished players
05:32at quarterback in the portal,
05:33and probably the highest paid player too.
05:35Dylan Rayola has rebuffed rumors
05:37that he's leaving Nebraska.
05:38He says he's all in.
05:39He's going back to the Cornhuskers next year.
05:41And former Auburn head coach, Brian Harsin,
05:43is going to become the new offensive coordinator
05:46at the University of California.
05:48Meanwhile, some sad news for this poor young guy
05:50in the NFL running back, Jonathan Brooks,
05:52on the Carolina Panthers.
05:53He tore his ACL again.
05:55This is the second time in two years.
05:57He was a second round pick out of Texas,
05:58going to miss a year of time,
06:00and hopefully he can get back on the field
06:02at some point for next year,
06:03but that seems to be questionable.
06:04Meanwhile, A.J. Brown has criticized
06:06the Eagles passing game,
06:08and Brandon Graham says his comments
06:10on Jalen Hurts and Brown were a mistake.
06:13What he was alluding to is the fact that he said
06:16that the person that was complaining,
06:18referring to A.J. Brown, needs to be accountable,
06:20and went on to say that they don't have
06:21a good relationship between Brown and Hurts.
06:23Who knew?
06:24Either way, he followed up with apology
06:26and said that he just wants to win
06:29and didn't put things in a good light,
06:31but now we know the relationship is out there
06:32between A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts.
06:34Not a great job there.
06:35The Las Vegas Raiders probably going to have
06:36a new quarterback this week.
06:38Aidan O'Connell has a bone bruise.
06:39His timeline remains unclear to return to action.
06:43Raiders have already gone through Minshew and O'Connell,
06:45and they'll go through some more this week.
06:46Veteran quarterback Steven Nelson has unretired.
06:49He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
06:51Good timing.
06:51He's got 13 career interceptions,
06:53and the Chiefs are going to the playoffs.
06:55Tonight in the NBA Cup, are you focused on the NBA Cup?
06:58If so, I have good news for you,
07:00because the Knicks go into Toronto.
07:01They beat the Raptors 113 to 108.
07:03They had a very big fourth quarter.
07:05The quarterfinals of the NBA Cup
07:06are also tonight Giannis and the Bucs,
07:08six and a half point home favorites against the Magic,
07:10and the Mavericks are four and a half road dogs
07:13against Oklahoma City.
07:15These are the quarterfinals of this midseason NBA Cup.
07:19In terms of the Dodgers,
07:20they're still looking at free agency.
07:22They've signed a couple of players.
07:23They're probably going to sign some more.
07:25Shohei Otani will be ready to hit when the season begins.
07:29The announcement comes yesterday from manager Dave Roberts.
07:31Still unclear on the pitching,
07:33but he is expected to pitch next year without a doubt.
07:35Nolan Arenado appears to be on the move.
07:38The multi-gold Glover,
07:39probably best defensive third baseman in the last 20 years.
07:43They're exploring a trade with him right now.
07:46He's 33 years old.
07:47He's owed $27 million in two years from now,
07:5032 million this year, 15 million in 2028.
07:54So they're going to have to find a trade partner
07:56and maybe eat some money as well.
07:58Jordan Romano, closer of the Toronto Blue Jays,
08:00has signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.
08:03$8.5 million is the contract there.
08:05And Terry Francona says he's ready to go.
08:07He's going to be manager of the Cincinnati Reds,
08:09he told reporters yesterday in Dallas at the winter meetings.
08:12In terms of some sports betting news,
08:14BetMGM has hired away Rocket Mortgage executive,
08:16Casey Herbis, as their new chief marketing officer.
08:21Also, there is a woman involved in a lawsuit.
08:23Get this, she is suing DraftKings
08:26for enabling her husband's gambling problem,
08:30saying they should have stopped him from gambling.
08:32Okay, good luck with that.
08:33Iowa sports betting revenue more than doubles in November,
08:36and Penn Gaming has donated $500,000
08:39to the HBCU for STEM education programming,
08:43kick-starting a brand new campaign.
