00:00The European project Beyond Snow helps ski resorts at low altitudes to prepare for the end of the white gold.
00:07The researcher Philippe Corradini explains the three goals of the project.
00:30We need to have to find data regarding overnight stays, how they are distributed throughout the years and so on.
00:36We are currently creating a digital tool which incorporates these indicators.
00:41There are roughly 54 indicators.
00:44It will help the destinations understand their exposure and vulnerability towards climate change.
00:52The second one are the transition strategies for our pilot working areas themselves,
00:57which are actually elaborated with the help of our local partners and the communities of the destinations.
01:04So it's a very resource-based approach to climate change adaptation
01:09because they will develop measures and a strategy which is strongly rooted in the resources,
01:17natural but also social resources, that they have within their community.
01:23And the last output will be a generalization of all these different measures and strategies
01:31to produce policy suggestions on a higher governance level, so regional or even national.
