00:09Jess, why don't you just tell us a little bit about the collaboration you guys have
00:14with Concept as well, and why did you choose Dubai to launch the fragrance?
00:18I was so excited to launch my 24th fragrance, Platinum Rush, I thought Dubai was the perfect
00:23place to come and launch it, with brands for you, and they've been so incredible.
00:28And I love Dubai, I think it's an amazing place, and when I was coming up with this
00:34perfume and creating it, I actually had the Middle East and Dubai in my mind, because
00:38I wanted to make the perfect perfume.
00:40Tell me a little bit about your dress, now you said this is inspired by a design, an
00:44Arab designer?
00:45Yeah, Youssef Al Jassmi, he's amazing, he makes the most gorgeous dresses, and I called
00:51him and I said I need some Platinum Rush inspired dresses, and he sent me a huge bag full of
00:58all these gorgeous gowns that look like the bottle, so that's perfect for today.
01:02So Paris, you've turned social media on its head when you actually came out with A Simple
01:06Life, now of course the American meme is scheduled to come out on Netflix next month, what would
01:12you actually tell people who are trying to make it big on social media, what would you
01:16want to tell them?
01:17It's a lot of work, it's really about building your brand and figuring out what you want
01:23to do, what your talent is, if you love to cook, you love to do makeup, you love fashion,
01:27you want to be a designer, you really need to figure out your focus and get the right
01:32content and really push it and also collaborate with other influencers, and that's always
01:38a great way.
01:39Do you think there's also a darker side to social media, can it really kind of emotionally
01:45also bring you down in some ways?
01:47Definitely, and in the film the American meme, it shows that a lot of the characters in the
01:53film go through a lot, we all do, being in this industry, it's social media, people are
02:01judging you all the time, so you really need to have a tough head on your shoulders.
02:06So you mentioned in the press conference as well that after the Philippines, Dubai is
02:10a place that you're looking at, is it a Paris Hilton hotel, is it a beach club, what do
02:14we have here?
02:15It's a surprise.
02:16Can we expect it before Expo 2020?
02:19Hopefully.
02:20What advice would you actually give to female entrepreneurs who are looking out to make
02:24a name for yourselves in the industry?
02:26It's all about really working hard and finding out what your love and passion is and what
02:31you want to do in your life, and to always believe in yourself and work ethic.
02:37I work so hard and I've created my own empire, all on my own, and I think if anyone has a
02:44dream and they really work at it, then anything is possible.
02:48What advice did you get from your father or your grandfather, I'm sure they would have
02:51actually given you some advice along the way in terms of setting a business up, investment
02:56opportunities.
02:57I always ask my father for advice and my grandfather always looked up to them, they're such amazing
03:02mentors and the best advice is to always do background checks on people, make sure that
03:08you're working with the correct people who are making the right products, I want to make
03:13sure that all the ingredients that are used in my fragrances and my skincare, my makeup
03:18and everything is always the top quality and just really taking complete control of my
03:24brand and making sure I'm involved 110% always.
03:28So where are you taking this empire, what are you going to be planning over the next
03:31three years?
03:32Are you planning to enhance on your product line, are we looking at more hotels?
03:36What have you got in mind?
03:37Well, I already have two of my properties in the Philippines and we're going to be doing
03:42more Paris properties all around the world and I'm obsessed with tech and I've always
03:48been a huge tech nerd, so I've been in Berlin and developing a new virtual reality world
03:54which will be basically like the new social media.
03:57Fabulous, so it will be entirely actually VR, am I correct here?
04:01Yes, you're going to be in a Paris world, getting to meet people all around the world
04:05and be your own avatar, whatever you want to look like, it's going to be pretty innovative.
04:10From my BFF, with Dubai played a large part, over the years Dubai has somehow or the other
04:14played some sort of integral part as you have built your empire, how will it actually play
04:19a part in the future, over the next few years?
04:22I can't wait to come here more often, I love it here, I love the people, it's an incredible
04:27market for me and I look forward to doing real estate here and a lot of projects, so
04:33I will be back very soon.
