00:00It's important to be yourself and when I say be yourself, that means when you answer a
00:14question saying I want to do something good with my title, you should do something good
00:18with your title because that gives you some power. When it's just looked at as a stepping
00:23stone to the Indian film industry, then I find it very disappointing but that's all
00:27it was and these are the answers you gave to say that you want to actually make a difference.
00:33You wanted to make a difference, what have you done about it? So that part is disappointing
00:37but when I see some girls working towards actually coming close to the promises they
00:48made or the words they spoke, the winning words that they spoke, then it's nice but
00:55there are very few and far between like that.
01:01I try to keep fit for not cosmetic reasons, I try to keep fit for health reasons. When
01:11I wanted to get pregnant, I got pregnant in three months because I believe I have a strong,
01:16healthy body. So I'm just saying that I think it's not about being skinny, skinny does not
01:24equal beautiful. I think strong and healthy is what is important. For me, staying strong,
01:32staying fit is all a part of being healthy as opposed to looking good or for cosmetic
01:40reasons. As far as photoshopping is concerned, I'm just saying so often we see magazine covers
01:48and we see photographs of people in newspapers and publications and they don't look like
01:55what they really are and that is so sad. If ever I have any photographs of mine that are
02:03being put out, in fact whatever covers I've done, I've had them approved by me before
02:09having them published, having them printed because I think I'd like to look like myself.
02:19I've been offered a skin fairness cream commercial a couple of times in the past and I've said
02:24no because I just don't think fair equals lovely or fair equals beautiful. I think we
02:31are all blessed with different colours of skin and I think we should be proud of it
02:36and I don't think we should try and change our colour.
02:42I'm in the business of fashion but still from the outside. I don't follow trends, I don't
02:51follow this is what the colour palette of the season is going to be. I'm not like that.
02:56I go by gut, I go by instinct, I go by what pleases me. Honestly, if I would want to wear
03:00this saree, I'd like to make it and put it out there. That's how it works for me. When
03:03people talk of fashion, what does fashion and style mean to you? It's not about following
03:07the trend that's in season, the hemline, the cut, the neckline or the colour. It's
03:14about you have a certain personality and you have a certain body type. Just wear clothes
03:18that suit you. Wear clothes that are pleasing to you when you look at yourself in the mirror.
03:22Not something that this is what's in fashion so I must wear it. I think it's very important
03:26not to become a fashion victim.
