00:00The Muslim world's six best new structures received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture
00:13during a ceremony in Al Ain's Al-Jahili 4th on Sunday. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
00:18Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, and
00:22Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of around 15 million Ismaili Muslims and the
00:27world's creator, presented the awards to the six winners.
00:31The winning projects were a mosque and social space in Bangladesh, a children's library
00:36in China, an urban park in Denmark, a university building in Lebanon, and a bridge in Iran.
00:41The winning structures were selected by a nine-member jury out of 348 submissions from
00:4769 countries.
00:48The Aga Khan Award, which handed out 3.67 million dirhams in total prizes to the winners,
00:53is an architectural prize established by Khan in 1977. It aims to identify and reward
00:59architectural concepts that successfully address the needs and aspirations of Islamic societies.
