Mumbai, Maharashtra: Businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, says, "I am deeply concerned about the surveys being conducted on mosques, which I believe is completely wrong. We are a diverse nation, and we must allow everyone to follow their own faith. When people are in distress, they turn to their gods, not to politicians. Politicians don’t come to help; people go to pray to the gods they believe in. We should have a secular government. I'm also very happy that Priyanka is now in Parliament. On Haryana farmers protest he said that If farmers are coming from Haryana, how is it that Haryana has formed a government that is pro-BJP when its farmers are protesting against it? There is definitely an issue with the EVMs, as this kind of result has emerged in Haryana. Vadra said that This government should do better for the people. We should think about progress for the people in a secular way. First and foremost, that is important. And definitely, the result was not as expected. From my experience with people, they don’t trust some of the EVMs because, in some cases, the battery life was 99% while in others, it was only 66%. These concerns have been raised with the Election Commission, and I hope they focus on this. People need to have faith in the voting system and EVM machines, as there will always be doubt otherwise.

00:00I travel all over the country for… on a spiritual visit and today I'm at Haji Ali Dargah.
00:06I'm very, very fortunate to be here.
00:09The love and affection that I got from everybody here and the prayers.
00:12I put a chadar there and there was prayers for me and my family.
00:18I was very happy.
00:20I'm actually very, very worried about all the surveys being conducted on mosques, which
00:25I think is totally incorrect.
00:27I think we must… we have a diverse nation, we must let everybody have their own faith.
00:33When people are in trouble, they think about their gods.
00:36At that time, they don't think of politicians or, you know, politicians don't come there
00:40to help them.
00:41They go to pray to the gods they believe in and it should be secular government we should
00:47have here and I definitely think and I'm very happy that Priyanka is now in parliament
00:54and she will definitely, you know, rise the questions that are hidden by BJP and she will
01:01talk about all the issues, may it be the farmers, the women's issues, the minority's issues,
01:08every issue that the country is facing that which the BJP tries to hide, Priyanka will
01:13definitely take it on with Rahul and they will try and reach Sambhal and everywhere
01:18wherever there's disturbance caused by the governments there.
01:22And I'm here for prayers for brotherhood and peace and harmony in our country and that's
01:27how we'll progress ahead and we are a strong nation, we should just stay secular and we
01:33should be together, all of us to move forward.
01:36When the government does not listen to people who have issues and there's no hearing at
01:43all and the farmers have been protesting for a year and a half or two years and they have
01:50missed their families, their people have died, I mean for a year and a half nobody was listening
01:56to the farmers and then as soon as in 2024 general elections I felt that all the three
02:03bills that were taken in the parliament were reversed only as an optic.
02:08I think if all the farmers are coming from Haryana, how is it that Haryana has made a
02:15government that is pro-BJP when all the farmers are from Haryana protesting against it.
02:25So definitely there is an issue with the EVMs that how this kind of a result to come in
02:31Haryana and also I feel people had larger hopes in Maharashtra but I think the congress
02:38once again will rise and people will work hard but yes, all the real issues of the country
02:45have to be heard by the prime minister because I saw this morning that the prime minister
02:51went to inaugurate a fair, a trade fair or tourism fair for the north east but has he
02:58gone to Manipur?
03:00He hasn't gone to Manipur.
03:01They have a government there and there's so much of disturbance there.
03:04The women are harassed, everybody is in trouble, if they cannot find a solution they have to
03:10be above party lines and put all the parties together to find a solution for Manipur.
03:14I congratulate the people who have voted for them or the way it is that I mean this
03:22government should do better for people, we should think of progress for people and in
03:27a secular way, right?
03:29First is that and definitely the result was not in favour of what was expected so people,
03:36the experience that I have from people, they don't believe in some of the EVMs because
03:41some of the EVMs had, when they were there, they had a battery life of 99% and some of
03:46them had 66%.
03:48These things have been taken to the election commission but I hope the election commission
03:51will focus on this and people need to believe in the voting system and the EVM machines.
03:58There's always a doubt.
03:59I know they'll say how come you won in Jharkhand but you lost there so how come there's an
04:04EVM issue?
04:05People have doubts in the larger states as in Haryana and Maharashtra.
04:10The results were really, really unexpected and I think basically that the election commission
04:16needs to look at it very clearly otherwise people will lose faith in the method of voting.
