00:00Hi, I'm Jane Bradley, Assistant Editor of The Scotsman and I'm here today at the Grand
00:05Prix of Figure Skating Final in Grenoble in France. Scottish skater Lewis Gibson, who
00:10is from Prestwick, will be competing with his partner Lila Fear in the ice dance competition.
00:15They are one of six elite figure skating couples to qualify for this event and will be hoping
00:22to get their hands on a medal. I spoke to Lewis and Lila earlier today.
00:27I'm here at the Grand Prix Final in Grenoble with Lewis Gibson and Lila Fear. Hi!
00:32Lewis Gibson and Lila Fear
00:33Hi!
00:34So you're about to skate your rhythm dance this afternoon. Could you tell me a little
00:37bit about how you're feeling before that?
00:39Excited? Were you going to say that?
00:41Yeah, I think we both feel very ready to compete and just eager to get out there in front of
00:46the crowd.
00:47And you recently won your seventh national title for Great Britain in ice dance, which
00:52equals both Jordan Dean and Scottish skaters Sinead and John Kerr. So how do you feel about
00:57that and what's the legacy going to be for British ice dance and figure skating in general?
01:03We were really proud to have achieved seven titles. It's such an honour and we love representing
01:07Great Britain and I think that we're very honoured to be a part of that legacy in whatever
01:11way that we can be and hopefully inspire the next generation of skaters to get involved
01:15and to go for it themselves.
01:17That's fantastic. Thank you so much and good luck in your competition.
01:20Thank you!
