Sim Hui Yi's parents bid a heartbreaking farewell to their daughter, a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) student who tragically passed away after slipping into a coma just a day before the national examination.
On Friday (Dec 6), family and friends gathered to pay their final respects to the 17-year-old.
Among those in attendance were MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and state executive councillor Ling Tian Soon.

00:39She died at 9.40am on Thursday at Batu Pahat Hospital, where she had been transferred after
00:45initially being rushed to the Yong Peng Health Clinic.
00:54Hoi Yee's father shared that his daughter had been diligently preparing for her exams
01:07in hopes of securing a scholarship for tertiary studies.
01:11He recalled encouraging her not to worry about finances or put too much pressure on herself,
01:17but Hoi Yee had continued working tirelessly, often staying up late to study.
01:23It was only after her passing that her parents discovered she had been experiencing headaches
01:28since last month.
01:30Among those who paid their last respects to the teenager at her funeral on Friday were
01:35MCA President Datuk Shri Dr Wee Kha Siong and State Executive Counsellor Ling Tian Soon.
01:41The MCA President said he was saddened by the news and hoped that Sim's family would
01:46remain strong.
01:47I think it's a great loss to the family, especially the parents, the only child.
01:51So I'm here just to console them, and then they have to be strong, but whatever happens
